norama view_v0.2
The norama-view software is designed to offer an interface for reprojected equirectangular mapping image view. It allows to navigate on the mapping as if it was projected on a sphere in order to remove mapping distortions. This viewer can be considered as a gnomonic viewer for equirectangular mappings.
The norama-view software expects the following arguments and parameters. Starting with the stream arguments and parameters :
--input -i
Path to the equirectangular mapping image to display.
Parallelization arguments and parameters :
--threads -t
This parameter is used to override the default thread count for
performence improvement.
The following optimization arguments and parameters can be considered :
--scale -s
This parameter allows to decrease, or increase, the size of the
display buffer. This can be used to decrease the computation load.
--width -x, --height -y
Those parameters allow to manually specify the screen resolution that
imply the size of the display buffer.
Finally, the help switch is :
--help -h
Display minimal usage summary.
The screen resolution can be manually set because norama-view does not manage multi-screen plateforms.
Considering the following equirectangular mapping (copyright (c) Didier Mouron under CC BY-SA license) captured using an Eyesis4Pi camera :
the viewer allows to navigates through mouse as if the mapping where projected on a sphere surrounding the point of view as illustrated on the following image :
In order to move the point of view, the mouse has to be moved maintaining the left click. Using the right click and moving the mouse vertically allows to change the field of view. The key R can be used to reset both point and field of view when F only reset the field of view to its default value.
The software binary can be build using its specific makefile by simply typing in its base directory :
$ make clean && make
The binary is placed in the local bin directory and is not copied in the suite main bin directory. To generate the documentation, use the command :
$ make documentation
When documentation is generated, the previous one is preliminary removed.
