Impulse Anvil v1.0.112 — Mode-Aware Morph Baking

Impulse Anvil v1.0.112 is the current public release build, focused on creative IR design, faster source loading, mode-aware morph baking, prepared-IR accuracy, and a cleaner finished workflow for sculpting and exporting custom WAV impulse responses.

Highlights

  • Added mode-aware A→B Lerp: Lerp Preview and baked A→B IRs now follow the selected Morph Mode.
  • Spectral Morph, BandSwap and ZigZag can now create evolving A→B impulse responses, not only normal live morph blends.
  • Added direct drag-and-drop loading for supported audio files such as WAV and FLAC onto IR A or IR B from outside the DAW.
  • Added A/B IR Swap for quickly exchanging the loaded IR sources while keeping the current parameter setup intact.
  • Improved prepared-IR length handling so Edit, waveform display and Bake reflect the actual processed IR more reliably.
  • Refined Start / End / Fade behavior for stretched, colored, morphed and reversed IR ranges.
  • Consolidated the workflow around one clear Bake action for exporting the current creative IR state.
  • Improved visual EQ interaction, resonance feedback and edit-range behavior for faster IR sculpting.
  • Polished the final public UI workflow around IR A / IR B, Morph, EQ, Edit, Output, Themes and Bake.

Faster IR loading workflow

  • Supported audio files (wav, flac, aif, aiff) can now be dragged directly from any folder onto IR A or IR B.
  • This makes it much faster to audition recordings, field sounds, fabric noises, room snaps, cab IRs, texture files and personal IR libraries.
  • Drag-and-drop loading works outside the DAW browser, so users can pull files straight from normal system folders.
  • This improves the core creative workflow: record something, drag it in, sculpt it, morph it, then bake the result.

A/B IR Swap

  • Added a dedicated A/B Swap workflow for loaded IR sources.
  • A and B can now be exchanged quickly without rebuilding the whole setup manually by pressing "S" in the A section.
  • The current parameter setup stays intact, making it easier to test how the same sculpting context reacts when the source positions are reversed.
  • This is especially useful when comparing morph direction, A→B Lerp behavior, peak alignment and source balance.

Mode-aware A→B Lerp

  • A→B Lerp now uses the selected Morph Mode.
  • Time Morph keeps the familiar smooth time-domain Lerp behavior.
  • Spectral Morph, BandSwap and ZigZag now create their own mode-specific evolving IRs.
  • Lerp Preview and baked A→B exports now use the same mode-aware rendering logic.
  • Morph Mode remains meaningful while A→B Lerp is active because it now defines how the transition from A to B is built.
  • This makes baked A→B IRs much more powerful: the movement inside the exported WAV can now be spectral, hybrid or experimental instead of only time-based.

Prepared IR and Edit range behavior

  • Improved how the prepared IR length is calculated after time stretch, Color, Texture, morphing and post-sculpt processing.
  • Start, End, Fade In and Fade Out now follow the actual prepared IR more consistently.
  • Reverse slices behave more predictably when Start is placed later than End.
  • Long recordings are easier to browse because the visible waveform and editable range stay aligned with the processed IR.
  • Fade behavior is more stable across short slices, long IRs and reversed ranges.
  • The Edit section is now more reliable for isolating small usable moments inside longer recordings.

Morph and Bake workflow

  • Baking is now centered around one clear Bake workflow.
  • Bake follows the currently active IR state more clearly, whether you are working from A, B, Morph or A→B Lerp.
  • Current IR exports and A→B morph exports are easier to understand from the user workflow.
  • Mode-aware Lerp makes baked morph IRs more expressive and more consistent with what the Morph section is doing.
  • Exported files remain standard WAV impulse responses for use in compatible convolution tools.

EQ and Resonance workflow

  • The EQ section supports a more complete sculpting workflow for prepared IRs.
  • Three Bell EQ bands can be used for targeted resonance shaping.
  • Bell interaction in the EQ graph is cleaner and more predictable.
  • Resonance Assist helps identify strong tonal zones inside the prepared IR.
  • EQ, Resonance Assist and the IR display now support faster decisions while refining a sound before baking.

UI and workflow polish

  • The interface is organized around the final v1 workflow:

    • IR A / IR B
    • Morph
    • EQ
    • Edit
    • Output
    • Themes
    • Bake
  • The public UI has been polished for clearer section hierarchy, better readability and a more finished commercial workflow.

  • Theme handling, buttons, headers, panels and value readouts have been refined for a more consistent user experience.

  • Randomization and reset behavior are cleaner for exploration without losing the basic workflow.

  • The plugin remains focused as a standalone creative IR morphing, sculpting and baking tool.

Install

  1. Download ImpulseAnvil_Windows_VST3.zip.
  2. Extract the ZIP.
  3. Copy the complete Impulse Anvil.vst3 folder to:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

  1. Rescan or restart your DAW.
  2. Open Impulse Anvil.
  3. Use the demo or activate the full version with your license key.

Notes

  • Platform: Windows 10/11, 64-bit VST3.
  • The plugin starts in demo mode and unlocks after activation.
  • Factory IRs are bundled inside the VST3 folder.
  • Baked files are standard WAV impulse responses.
