Impulse Anvil v1.0.122 — IR Design Workstation Update

Impulse Anvil 1.0.122 is the largest expansion of the IR-construction workflow so far.

New

21 Morph relationships

The full Morph library now spans 21 relationships.

Core Morph

  • Time Morph
  • Spectral
  • Spectral BandSwap
  • Spectral ZigZag
  • Stereo Slot Swap
  • Mid/Side Boundary

Residual / Decompose

  • Raw Difference
  • Aligned Difference
  • Matched Residual
  • Spectral Carve
  • Similarity Residual
  • Common
  • Unique A
  • Unique B
  • Difference Focus
  • Spectro-Temporal Residual

Acoustic Interaction

  • Nest
  • Transfer
  • Ghost
  • Eclipse
  • Spectral Time Shear

Residual / Decompose modes let you explore shared material, source-specific leftovers and different forms of A/B difference instead of only blending between two IRs.

The Acoustic Interaction family adds deeper structural relationships including cascading two responses, stabilized transfer, magnitude/phase crossbreeding, controlled cancellation and time-frequency interaction.

Glue Path

Glue Path joins Draw and Path as a new authored-IR workflow.

  • Paint up to six independent source-time strokes.
  • Start and finish each stroke anywhere.
  • Move right to travel forward through source-time.
  • Move left to read earlier source material again.
  • Strokes are joined in the order they were created.
  • The route itself determines the resulting duration.
  • Glue timing is independent of Lerp Start / Lerp Time.
  • Precision Nodes preserve the original forward/backward route while editing.
  • Preview and Bake use the same prepared construction.

Focus View

A, Morph, B, EQ, Edit and Out can now expand into Focus View.

The existing live controls are rearranged into a larger workspace rather than creating a separate parameter page. Return to Overview and the exact same state remains active.

IR Browser

LOAD now opens a dedicated in-plugin IR Browser for A or B.

  • Search
  • Folder/source navigation
  • Single-click candidate inspection
  • Waveform preview
  • Sample rate, channels, bit depth, duration, peak and RMS information
  • CURRENT vs SELECTED Compare view
  • Enter, double-click or LOAD INTO A/B to commit
  • Custom IR folders
  • External LOAD FILE support

Removing a custom folder only removes its registration from Impulse Anvil. It never deletes the user's audio files.

Morph Mode Browser

The expanded Morph library now has its own in-editor browser.

Each selected relationship explains:

  • USE IT FOR
  • HOW MORPH BEHAVES
  • TECHNICAL

Global Undo / Redo

Impulse Anvil now keeps a 128-step transactional edit history.

Meaningful editing actions can be undone and redone, including:

  • IR loads
  • parameter edits
  • Morph changes
  • Random actions
  • Draw / Path / Glue gestures
  • preset loads

The curve toolbar keeps its own local curve Undo separately.

DESIGN workspace

Themes now have a persistent DESIGN navigator and dedicated workspace.

  • Previous / Next / Random Design
  • built-in and packaged designs
  • imported user designs
  • custom design folders
  • Schema-2 colour editing
  • Save / Save As
  • multi-file JSON import
  • Set Default

Liquid Slate is the default design for this release.

Workflow improvements

  • Morph authoring keeps A/B waveform context visible behind Draw, Path and Glue.
  • Path and Glue Precision Nodes preserve the authored source-time route instead of rebuilding it as a simplified spline.
  • A/B/Morph selection remains immediate while double-click Focus remains available.
  • Dedicated IR and Morph browsers replace the older menu-heavy selection workflow.

Stability & compatibility

  • Existing host parameter IDs and order are preserved.
  • Existing projects and presets remain supported.
  • Legacy Morph modes retain their existing mapping.
  • Existing Draw and Path states remain compatible.
  • Release build locked to JUCE 8.0.13.
  • Windows 10/11, 64-bit VST3.

Release hardening

The final release also contains the accumulated stability and UI hardening from the v141 development line, including browser lifecycle fixes, Glue/Align display fixes, tooltip/readability cleanup, focused-EQ layout correction, section Random alignment, A/B Color alignment and final Liquid Slate lighting/selection polish.

Updating

Replace the complete existing Impulse Anvil.vst3 folder with the new version, then rescan the plugin in your DAW if required.
