Webhook Extension: How to avoid multiple calls for the same event

Hello,
i like the idea of the webhook extension.
My usecase is to send out a pushover notification if a specific topic is found.
The pushover connection works fine.
My filter looks like this:
intitle:FreshRSS
intitle:Frigate
intitle:pfSense

So i want to get a pushover notification, if one of the keywords is part of the title of a rss news. I do get a notification, but multiple times. It seems on every RSS fetch process, the webhook gets triggered. Again and again. It would be great, if the webhook would be only triggered once. How can i achive this behaviour? Thank you!

This is expected with the current code. The extension hooks entry_before_insert, and FreshRSS core calls that hook not only for new articles but also for articles it already has when their content hash changes (feedController.php, the "already exists but has been updated" branch). Feeds that tweak items on every fetch re-trigger the webhook each refresh.

The extension has an ignore_updated option that skips exactly those entries (if ($this->getUserConfigurationBool('ignore_updated') && $entry->isUpdated()) return $entry;), but configure.phtml has no checkbox for it, and every save of the settings writes it back as false. So right now you can't turn it on from the UI.

Until that is fixed upstream, the simplest workaround is to edit xExtension-Webhook/extension.php, in processArticle():

	return $entry;
}

(replacing the ignore_updated check). After that only genuinely new GUIDs are sent. Note that "Mark updated articles as unread" does not change this; the hook fires for updated entries either way.

To confirm the cause: the extension only logs failures, not successful sends. You can temporarily add Minz_Log::notice('[Webhook] ' . ($entry->isUpdated() ? 'updated ' : 'new ') . $entry->guid()); at the top of processArticle(), refresh the feed a few times and look at the user log (Settings > Logs). Repeats marked "updated" confirm it.

I opened #531 to add the missing checkbox, so once it's merged you can just tick "Ignore updated articles" in the extension settings instead of patching the code.
