FAQ

Do I create a new repository for Project Two?

No. Create one personal it140-projects repository in Module Five and continue using it for the Module Six Milestone and Project Two.

Do I create a new repository for the Module Six Milestone?

No. The milestone file belongs in the same project repository.

Where is the Module Six code stored?

Use:

prototype/move_between_rooms.py

This keeps the milestone separate from the final Project Two program.

Where is the final Project Two code stored?

Use:

src/text_based_game.py

Should I replace my Project One map with the sample dragon map?

No. The sample materials help explain the expected type of game. Your Project One deliverables should follow the current project directions and use your own theme and game design.

Is the Module Six prototype supposed to include items and the villain?

The simplified milestone focuses on movement, command handling, looping, validation, and exit behavior. Follow the current Module Six Milestone Guidelines and Rubric for the required prototype scope.

Can I just use my Module Six prototype as Project Two?

No. Project Two adds the complete game requirements, including your own room/item dictionary, inventory behavior, required functions, and win/loss logic.

Does Project Two still use exit to end the game?

The Module Six milestone uses a simplified exit condition. Project Two ends when the player wins or loses according to the current Project Two requirements. Review the current Guidelines and Rubric before finalizing the loop.

Do I submit the GitHub repository link for grading?

Follow the current What to Submit section in D2L Brightspace. GitHub is used for development and backup; grading and instructor feedback remain in D2L Brightspace.

Can I edit the SRS or SDD?

No. They are provided course references. Put your own work in the student-editable files identified by the top-level README.

Do I have to complete the SDW or test plan?

They are recommended working aids unless your instructor or current course instructions specifically require them.

Can I ask for a complete solution in GitHub Discussions?

No. Use Discussions for questions that help you understand the repository or course process without requesting or sharing completed graded solutions.

What if my local computer setup is causing problems?

The Codio Virtual Desktop (CVD) is the course reference environment. Use the Module One Setup Tasks support guidance and continue coursework in the CVD when a local environment is blocking progress.
