PUKEY Mod Manager 0.4.0
The central mod manager now supports community UE4SS Lua and native DLL mods while retaining Design C.
New
- Reset and help: restore individual settings/keybindings to their defaults, then choose Save settings. Hover, focus or click an info icon for explanations, including FreeCam's camera modes.
- Community mods: Add mod accepts public GitHub repositories/releases, HTTPS ZIP links and local ZIP files. Inspect and select packages, then install them from their own tabs. Existing layouts work without a manifest; optional
pukey-mod.jsonenables typed Lua/JSON/INI configuration. - Readable mod tabs: fixed widths, horizontal mouse-wheel/trackpad scrolling and visible Enabled/Disabled/Not installed status, with separate update state.
- Live logs: a separate read-only window for UE4SS/game logs with filtering, pause, copy and folder access.
- Developer support: manifest and authoring guide, synthetic Lua/native templates and
python -m manager.validate_mod.
Sources retain independent caches and ownership. Configuration, media and unknown files are preserved, including personal-file history after removal. Updates are explicit; mod code and package installers are never run by the manager.
Install
Extract the complete Windows ZIP or Linux x86-64 tar.gz. Run PUKEY-Mod-Manager.exe or PUKEY-Mod-Manager, keeping _internal beside it. No separate Python, Rust, Git or FModel installation is required. See the manager guide.
Version 0.4 upgrades installation ownership to schema 2 on the next successful modification; older managers cannot manage those records. Keep using 0.4 or newer afterward.
The game-derived interface still reads artwork only from a supported installed demo; no original game images are bundled. Pak mods, automatic dependency installation and compiling native mods are outside this release. A package passing validation does not guarantee game or UE4SS ABI compatibility. Gameplay under Proton remains unverified. This is a prerelease.
Validation includes 186 local tests (two privilege-dependent skips), independent code/UI reviews and Windows/Linux CI builds with packaged startup checks.
