Precise Slider Adjustment

Every slider, macro dial, and vertical fader in the Studio (and the Remote's weather board) has a way to nudge a value in much smaller steps than a normal drag — useful on the wide-range controls where a single pixel of mouse movement can otherwise swing the value by more than a whole unit.

Why you'd use this

Some sliders cover a huge range on purpose, so you can find the right ballpark for a brand-new setup. But once you're close to the number you want, a normal drag is too coarse to land on it exactly — you end up typing the value in by hand instead. This gives you a way to fine-tune with the mouse instead.

How to use it

You have two options, and they do the exact same thing:

  • Drag the handle. A normal horizontal slider has a small line sitting right next to it, a thin vertical bar. Click and drag that line directly; no keyboard needed. A vertical fader has no separate grip: drag its value readout up or down instead, like a scrubby number.
  • Hold Shift and drag the slider itself. Same fine adjustment, without moving your hand to the handle.

Either way, the value creeps smoothly from wherever it already was, instead of jumping to wherever you clicked — so you can nudge it in either direction without losing your place.

A slider for a whole-number control (like a count) has no handle — there's nothing finer than "1" to offer there, so a normal drag already gives you full precision.

Where this works

The plain sliders and macro dials on every effect card in the Studio, the per-candle override sliders in the candle anchor popup, and the vertical faders in the Remote's weather board.
