New in 0.7.0-beta.1:

  • Readiness check. Activate Modulix while Elementor Pro is still active. Modulix then runs only its check (Tools -> Modulix, or wp modulix check) and lists the Pro widgets, dynamic tags, template types and features your pages and templates use that Modulix does not cover yet, with links to those pages, plus the themes and plugins that call Elementor Pro classes or constants. Nothing is changed and nothing leaves the site. wp modulix check exits with 1 when something is missing, so it fits scripts.
  • Compatibility layer. After the switch, themes and plugins that call ElementorPro\... classes get the matching Modulix classes, and ElementorPro\Plugin::instance()->modules_manager->get_modules() returns Modulix's modules. Names Modulix does not have stay undefined, so class_exists() checks keep working. ELEMENTOR_PRO_VERSION stays undefined.
  • Roadmap and contributor guide. ROADMAP.md splits the rest of the work into small steps, one issue each; CONTRIBUTING.md says what "done" means.

This is a beta. Tested on a test site next to an active Elementor Pro and after switching: pages compared with 0.6.0 (markup, desktop and mobile layout, console and PHP errors) are unchanged, the editor loads without errors. Elementor 4.3.5, PHP 8.1+. Updating from 0.6: replace the plugin; templates and settings are not changed.
