PokeSurvive v2.1.1 is a focused performance update for the complete Pokémon Crystal Living World, built and tested against gen1recomp 0.3.8.

Gen1Recomp handles accelerated play by executing multiple 60 Hz game-logic steps before each displayed frame. Although PokeSurvive already limited resident movement and offscreen pathfinding work, several background services were still being called repeatedly at higher game speeds.

  • Performance improvements
  • Limited resident roster synchronization to one service pass per displayed frame
  • Bounded resident phone, visitor, proximity-chatter, and conversation checks
  • Reduced repeated autonomous resident-battle bookkeeping
  • Bounded weather publication and audio-state maintenance
  • Reduced repeated randomizer, breeding, field-return, and Adventure-event housekeeping
  • Preserved accumulated elapsed time for duration-sensitive systems
  • Added incremental Lua garbage collection for Crystal to reduce occasional long-session pauses
  • Retained the existing resident-state, pathfinding, arrival-route, and reachable-area caches

Resident movement, schedules, relationships, conversations, Pokémon development, catching, training, battles, weather, and Adventure Events remain fully enabled. Nothing was removed or simplified to achieve these improvements.

Existing PokeSurvive 2.0 and 2.1 saves remain compatible and continue in place.

Extremely high speed multipliers still require the engine to process several complete game ticks per displayed frame, so available CPU performance ultimately determines the ceiling. Version 2.1.1 removes much of PokeSurvive’s remaining avoidable workload from that multiplied path, producing steadier movement and fewer intermittent hitches during accelerated play.
