Disable touchscreen after connection

Hi, I'm aware of some efforts to turn off screen after connection. Actually I don't mind if the screen is on or off, however I always get some false touch events when placing my phone beside me (some stuff gets hover on) . So is there a way to disable touch screen when connecting to scrcpy and reenable it when disconnecting?

No, I don't think so.

I don't know if you already solved it but you can use: scrcpy --turn-screen-off
you will also need to go to settings>developer options>stay awake
otherwise if you use a hardware button the screen will turn on again.
It's working fine for me, I hope it works for you too

Thanks for this amazing software and your continued development efforts and for being so responsive on this website.

I have the same issue as the OP and I'm surprised this request hasn't come up more often. While mirroring my phone I sometimes need to move it and it's easy to touch the (turned off) touchscreen by mistake and that runs or brings up whatever I happened to touch. Just to make sure: there is no way to disable the touchscreen input on the device being mirrored while still being able to control it from the device it's mirrored to, correct?

On some devices, --turn-screen-off is sufficient. Some others continue to receive touch events.

It does disable the touchscreen input on my device, it's a Sony Xperia XA F3113... The screen is broken and it has "ghost touch"... --turn-screen-off worked fine, but I don't know if it works on all devices.
But I think it is worth the try

Thanks. As rom1v said it doesn't work on some devices and mine seems to be one of them. (it's a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 running LineageOS 16 and rooted...in case someone has any other ideas how to fix this)

Hi. I've confirmed that on my phone the device files which control the touchscreen are in /dev/input/event1. I can delete that directory via an adb shell and this disables the device touchscreen while still allowing scrcpy to control the phone remotely. Unfortunately when I'm done with scrcpy I have to reboot the phone to rebuild /dev/input and recover device touchscreen functionality. If anyone can clue me in to achieving something similar without having to reboot, I'd be grateful.

An extremely simple fix would be to rotate your phone 180 degrees, and make the screen face against the table XD
Annoying for those with the same problem as me though:

shell - Disable and enable android touchscreen via adb - Stack Overflow
Take note that this requires adb root access to be enabled in android dev-settings.

for me it worked like this ./scrcpy --turn-screen-off then after i press ctrl + O it disabled ghost touch for me
