Release list
v0.2 - Controller and hand tracking support, 360 image environments
This update introduces some important quality of life features:
- Quest/Pico Controller support: Can act as a mouse on the house PC,trigger is left click, A or X is right click, B or Y is middle click, and the thumbstick scrolls.
- Hand tracking: Confirmed working on Quest 3, I didn't get a chance to test on Pico 4 ultra but should be working there also.
- Screen Resize/Move: Functions as you'd expect for a typical VR app in 2026
- Environments: Added a few environments, you can also turn passthrough on and off within immersive mode.
Other changes include 1440p now being default, seems to work better on pico 4 and quest 2, and with the resolution of these headsets I don't find a huge difference with 4k but feel free to manually set it back to that if you like. When exiting immersive mode it brings you back to the moonlight host list rather than killing the app immediately, also more elegantly handles sleep/wake now. Screen position resets with headset recenter.
Note: If you downloaded the APK on Aug 17th then you might have had issues updating from v0.1 as I forgot to update the internal version code. The APK from Aug 18th has addressed this and should be no issue to update. A fresh install would have never had any issues. Thanks!
v0.1 - Initial release
NEWER VERSION AVAILABLE HERE: https://github.com/Gilleece/moonlight-android-xr/releases/tag/v0.2
Confirmed headsets:
- Pico 4 Ultra
- Quest 3
It should also work on Pico 4, Quest 3S, Quest Pro, Quest 2 etc but I don't have those to test. Anyone that can try and let me know, that would be much appreciated!
For now the 3D effect is decent enough, I believe it enhances the experience overall and even without 3D this is a nice version of moonlight for XR headsets with passthrough support.
Ideally I hope to add some nice 3D environments with ambient lighting and more 3D models to find one that suits you best. This is a bare bones initial release though. All bug reports are appreciated.
