Hi, I'm Giuliano ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm a Music and Acoustic Engineering graduate at Politecnico di Milano, and I'm interested in the intersection between sound, technology, and engineering.

Here, you'll find a collection of my projects, experiments, and coursework developed during my studies (mostly focused on audio, acoustics, and signal processing).

๐ŸŽ“ Master Thesis

My master thesis focused on differentiable DSP for audio reverberation, exploring the use of a differentiable Feedback Delay Network (FDN) optimized through gradient descent.

The approach combines classical signal processing structures with machine learning optimization: the parameters of the DSP model are learned via backpropagation by comparing the predicted reverberated output with target real-world reverberant audio.

The work was carried out within the research activities of Image and Sound Processing Lab. Due to the ongoing research work behind the project, code and results are not available here.

โœจ Things I love

๐ŸŽธ I've been playing bass for the last 14 years and I enjoy performing in semi-professional live events. I've also taken care of the technical side: creating backing tracks, managing setups, and handling the IT/technical workflow behind performances

๐ŸŽฎ I'm a big fan of story-driven videogames and immersive worlds: some of my favorites are games like Elden Ring, Undertale, and Horizon Zero Dawn. There is a story everywhere, and its discovery is part of the enjoyment

๐Ÿ‰ I occasionally enjoy roleplaying games, from tabletop adventures like D&D to any experience where creativity, storytelling, and collaboration come together
