Version 0.7 of the Android port of ZeldaWWHDRecomp: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (Wii U, USA, Europe and Japan) as a native Android app.

The app contains no game files. You need your own dump of the game: the disc image (.wux or .wud) with its disc key and the Wii U common key, or a Cemu archive (.wua) made from it. On the first start the app extracts the game and prepares the game code for your device (once; a few minutes on a fast phone, longer on slower ones).

What's new

  • Fast forward: hold ZR (R2) to run cutscenes and dialogues faster. Switch it on under Mods, separately for cutscenes and for dialogues. The game plays its normal frames, only more of them per second (as fast as your device can draw them, about 2× on a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3), so nothing is skipped; text boxes still wait for your button.
  • Picto Box pictures are no longer black (issue #22): pictures show up in colour in the save prompt and the album. Pictures that were already saved black stay black; delete them in the album.
  • Better crash logs: they now also cover the game stopping itself, and they name the game functions that led to the crash.
  • The performance overlay shows the app version as its last line.

Install

  1. Requirements: Android 11 or newer, 64-bit ARM, Vulkan 1.1, about 2 GB of free storage.
  2. Download tloz_tww_hd_recomp-0.7.apk and install it. It updates 0.6 in place and keeps your saves and settings. The game code is prepared again once after the update (a few minutes, with a progress notification).
  3. New install: put your disc image and both keys, or your .wua file, in one folder. Start the app, choose Extract from your disc image or .wua… and select that folder.

Save states made with 0.6 should keep loading; if one doesn't, your game save is not affected.

On some older Snapdragon phones (seen on a Snapdragon 855) the system's GPU driver hangs after a while and the game closes: install a Turnip driver there (Graphics › GPU driver).

Frame generation needs the usual Lossless.dll from your own copy of Lossless Scaling. Buy it, don't pirate it like Gonzo would.

Everything else is in the README.
