v0.9.2 - qcom == Ganon
Version 0.9.2 of the Android port of ZeldaWWHDRecomp: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (Wii U, USA, Europe and Japan) as a native Android app.
The app contains no game files. You need your own dump of the game: the disc image (.wux or .wud) with its disc key and the Wii U common key, or a Cemu archive (.wua) made from it. On the first start the app extracts the game and prepares the game code for your device (once; a few minutes on a fast phone, longer on slower ones).
What's new
- No more GPU hangs with older Snapdragon system drivers (issue #25: Snapdragon 855, 865 and 870 with Qualcomm's driver v502). The game closed within seconds there, often after every restart. The cause: this driver sometimes builds broken GPU programs when several are prepared at the same time. On such drivers the app now prepares them one at a time. On a Snapdragon 855 the game had closed in about every second start; in the tests afterwards it didn't any more. You no longer need a Turnip driver on these phones (it still works if you prefer it).
- Three more rendering errors fixed, found with the Vulkan validation layer: a texture read in the wrong state after a copy, smooth filtering of a depth format the GPU can't filter, and two threads using the screen's image queue at the same time.
- Save states need much less memory: making one could close the game on phones with 6 GB (Android ended it for low memory). Saving now needs about a quarter of the extra memory, loading about a third, and both are faster. Save states made before 0.9.2 still load.
- Rumble on the phone when the connected controller has no rumble.
- Crash logs show more of the game's state at the crash, for bug reports.
Install
- Requirements: Android 11 or newer, 64-bit ARM, Vulkan 1.1, about 2 GB of free storage.
- Download
tloz_tww_hd_recomp-0.9.2.apkand install it. It updates 0.9.1 in place and keeps your saves and settings. No new preparation of the game code after updating from 0.9 or 0.9.1 (updating from an older version prepares it once). - New install: put your disc image and both keys, or your
.wuafile, in one folder. Start the app, choose Extract from your disc image or .wua… and select that folder.
Frame generation needs the usual Lossless.dll from your own copy of Lossless Scaling. Buy it, don't pirate it like Gonzo would.
Everything else is in the README.
