v0.9.3 - to the moon
Version 0.9.3 of the Android port of ZeldaWWHDRecomp: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (Wii U, USA, Europe and Japan) as a native Android app.
The app contains no game files. You need your own dump of the game: the disc image (.wux or .wud) with its disc key and the Wii U common key, or a Cemu archive (.wua) made from it. On the first start the app extracts the game and prepares the game code for your device (once; a few minutes on a fast phone, longer on slower ones).
What's new
- Moon jump cheat (Mods › Cheats): hold L to rise, from the ground or the water, and steer with the left stick until Link lands. You can choose the rise speed (50–300 %) and the flight speed (50–1000 %), switch off fall damage for landings after a flight, and let each lift-off pick one of 14 random poses. Watch out if you turn off fall damage and you land where the character instantly dies like lava, you will survive as a ghost with no hearts left and can't be controlled anymore.
- Much less memory use: shaders no longer keep their source text once they are built. On a Snapdragon 855 after a long session around Dragon Roost the app now needs about 1.4 GB less; before, Android could close the game there for low memory on phones with 6 GB (likely issue #30).
- Save states made before 0.9.2 are converted to the new format when they are loaded. The save-state folder is made again if it was deleted while the game ran.
- Crash logs show the app's memory use and threads, and the game aborting now gets a crash log too.
Install
- Requirements: Android 11 or newer, 64-bit ARM, Vulkan 1.1, about 2 GB of free storage.
- Download
tloz_tww_hd_recomp-0.9.3.apkand install it. It updates 0.9.2 in place and keeps your saves and settings. No new preparation of the game code after updating from 0.9, 0.9.1 or 0.9.2 (updating from an older version prepares it once). - New install: put your disc image and both keys, or your
.wuafile, in one folder. Start the app, choose Extract from your disc image or .wua… and select that folder.
Frame generation needs the usual Lossless.dll from your own copy of Lossless Scaling. Buy it, don't pirate it like Gonzo would.
Everything else is in the README.
