Vigil 0.2.0 brings Boss Intel, group views and a tray icon to the Guildbook desktop companion for WoW: Forever.

What's new

  • Blizzard icons: class, faction and spell icons and boss portraits throughout the app.
  • Boss Intel: Molten Core and Onyxia, with a breakdown of every boss ability Vigil has observed in your logs. Other raids are on the way.
  • Group views: a group meter, deaths, damage taken and a details view for each fight.
  • Tray icon: close the window and Vigil keeps running in the tray. Pause and resume, check for updates and start at login from its menu.
  • One name and icon: the app is called Vigil, with its own icon, everywhere: the Dock and taskbar, notifications, the installer and the About panel.

Updating

  • Windows and Linux (AppImage): Vigil 0.1.0 updates itself. It downloads 0.2.0 in the background and offers a restart.
  • macOS: unsigned Mac builds can't install updates, so 0.1.0 only tells you 0.2.0 is out. Download the dmg below and drag Vigil to Applications, replacing the old copy.

Your pairing and settings carry over; there is no need to pair again.

These builds are unsigned.

  • macOS: open the dmg and drag Vigil to Applications. The first time, right-click Vigil and choose Open, then Open again (or System Settings, Privacy & Security, Open Anyway).
  • Windows: when SmartScreen says "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway.
  • Linux: chmod +x the AppImage, then run it.

Setup

  1. In the game, enable Advanced Combat Logging (System > Network).
  2. Type /combatlog in chat to start logging.
  3. On your guild's Guildbook site, open Vigil, choose Connect Vigil companion, and enter the pairing code in the app.
