TransitSync is an public academic research prototype and therefore free for anyone to access. Users do not need to provide personal information in order to use the app. It does not purposefully track usage of the app (i.e., "analytics") or record user activity.
All data measurements taken by our team during this research project are completely anonymous. No names or identifying information was recorded.
Current testing focuses on software testing using Jest, mocking, and GitHub Actions rather than human-participant studies.
If human-participant testing is introduced later, participants will be informed about what information is collected, why it is collected, how it will be used, and their right to stop participating.
TransitSync is intended as an academic research tool. Users should not use this program to make live decisions about transit operation.
Results generated in simulations with TransitSync are based upon available public data, measurements, estimates, assumptions, and simplified models. Therefore, results may or may not accurately reflect how actual STM, REM, or other transit operations occur.
Recommendations, such as holding times made by TransitSync should only be viewed as research outputs. Qualified transit professionals must validate all operational decisions made using information produced by TransitSync.
TransitSync is being provided "as is", and without warranty. The developers of TransitSync are not liable for any damage arising out of reliance on the prototype or output of TransitSync.
TransitSync is an independent academic project and is not an official product or service of the STM, REM, CDPQ Infra, or Concordia University.
