THE HIVE V0.2.0
BRACKETS AND THE HALL OF FAME (NEW)
Lobbies can now run tournaments with a real bracket. Look for the gold TOURNAMENT tag on events in the Hub’s News & Events.
Two bracket types:
KOTH: lose once and you’re out.
Double elimination: lose twice and you’re out. It ends with a Grand Final, plus one more match if the Losers bracket side wins it.
[] Sizes: anything from 1v1 to 32v32, up to 64 players or clans.
[] Matches: best of 1, 2, 3, 5 or 7.
[] Signing up: click the event to open its page.
1v1: you sign yourself up.
2v2 and up: your clan leader signs the clan up, and the clan needs at least as many members as the team size. Then members join the roster themselves, plus up to 2 subs.
Click any clan to see its roster.
[] When sign ups close:
Sign ups close 24 hours before the event unless the host picks another time. After that nobody can sign up or drop out.
The bracket is drawn at random, and everyone in it is paged with who they play.
A clan whose roster isn’t full by then doesn’t make the bracket.

It’s right on the event page.
Pop out opens it in its own window, so you can full screen it or put it on another monitor.
Ranks that can run KOTH enter the results, and the bracket fills in for everyone as they do.
[] Champions: when a Champion is crowned, everyone who played is paged. The Champion goes into that lobby’s Hall of Fame, behind the gold Hall of Fame button in the Hub.
The newest Champion is up front.
Every past Champion is on the Legends wall.
Most titles shows who has won the most.
VOICE
Each person’s volume: right-click anyone and set their volume from 0% to 200%. Only you hear the change, and it follows you to any PC.
Private mod chat: when you press Ready in a room with voice, the moderator can make a private voice chat for the match. Players can then join it, stay in room chat, or mute all chat. Cameras and streams stay with the whole room.
In game voice overlay: shows who’s talking on top of your game, with their picture, name and sound wave, in the corner you pick. It works in Windowed and Borderless. Games in exclusive Full Screen draw over it.
Options > Voice Overlay Settings: set these:
your voice while in a game;
the overlay on or off, and what it shows;
its size, how see-through it is, and its corner;
everyone’s volume, in one list.
[*] Switch voice chat key (Options > Key Bindings, Right Shift to start): flips between room chat and the private mod chat, even while you’re in a game.
FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS
Streaming: your mic, camera and screen share now stay under your rank’s upload limit together.
AvP 2010: THE HIVE now knows when you quit the game. You no longer stay marked as in game, and Join Game works again.
Profanity filter: it now works everywhere people’s words show;
chat, the Pager and the detached Pager;
forums and Hubs;
profiles and clans;
room names and gift card notes.
Turn it on or off in Options > Profanity filter.

THE HIVE 0.1.9 Patch Notes
New: Saved Groups (Pager > Groups)
The Pager has a new Groups tab, between Channels and Buddies.
Press + New Group, give the group a name and pick the people. Saving a group doesn’t page anyone.
To page everyone in a group, click the group or press Page. Everyone is asked to join first, the same as with + Add people.
If that group is already talking, Page changes to Open and takes you straight back to the conversation.
To keep a group conversation you’re already in, press ☆ Save on its name bar. It goes into your Groups tab.
Each group shows everyone’s pictures, who’s in it, how many are online, and TALKING when its conversation is going.
Press ⋯ to edit or delete a group. You can keep up to 20 groups, and they’re there on any computer you sign in on.
Group Conversations
A group can now have up to 12 people. Before, the most was 10.
The group picture now shows everyone in the conversation as tiles, up to 12 of them.
Detached Pager
Every tab now works when the Pager is detached: New, Buddies, Preference, Files and the new Groups tab.
Fixes
Pointing at a clan or guild tag no longer shows pop-up text. Clicking the tag still opens the clan or guild.

New: Group Pages
Every Pager conversation has a + Add people button on its name bar. Pick buddies who are online, or type any name, then press Ask to join.
This starts a new group conversation. Your old pages with that person stay between the two of you.
Everyone you add is asked first: “L3gacy has asked you to join a conversation with Angelis101.” They can press Join or No thanks.
The top of the group shows who you’re talking with, and you’ll see a line when someone is asked, joins, says no thanks or leaves.
Edit, Reply, React, “is typing”, GIFs and Mute all work in a group.
Invite asks everyone in the group to your room, and Send File sends to everyone.
Hang Up becomes Leave. The group stays in Channels until you leave it.
Anyone in the group can add more people, up to 10.
If someone is offline, they’re asked when they sign in, and group pages wait for them like any page.
Detached Pager
The detached Pager now looks like the Pager in the main window, with your theme, the tabs, the big picture, the GIF and emoji buttons and the full button row.
It goes back into the main window when you press Attach, the Pager button or the HIVE logo, when you log out or in, or when THE HIVE starts, so it never gets lost.
It has a cleaner look: thin scrollbars, and Edit, Reply and React float over a page when you point at it.
Room Gallery
Pictures now sit on raised tiles that lift a little when you point at them. White background pictures no longer blend into the plate.
Clan and Guild Charter
While you’re setting up a charter you can now press Move banner to drag the banner so the best part shows. The clan keeps that position when it’s made.
Fixes
In a smaller Pager, the typing box no longer slides under the buttons.
Moving or resizing the Pager no longer highlights text all over the app.
The Channels list no longer shows people as online after they’ve left.
Long dashes are gone from the app’s text.

NEW
- Edit your pages: hover over a page you sent and click Edit. Both of you see "edited".
- Reply and react to pages: hover over any page to reply or add one of the six chat emojis.
Works in the detached Pager too. - Forum replies in your Pager: when someone replies to your thread or quotes your post,
THE HIVE pages you with a link to the thread.
Turn it off in Pager > Preference > Forum replies. - Fonts and colors: Options > Text Font and Color. 22 fonts, a 96-color palette or any
color you want, size, bold, italic, underline, with a preview.
Right-clicking the chat box lists your last 4 fonts and last 8 colors. - Classic text: all chat looks the same on your screen, no matter what anyone picked:
MS Sans Serif, at the size you choose, in one of the 8 classic colors you choose.
Turn it on in the font window or the chat box right-click menu. - Rank icons in lobby and room chat, in front of each name.
- Room Gallery: everyone in the room is shown on a name plate with their picture, name,
rank, and tags for Moderator, Ready, In game, Talking, Muted and You.
Click a plate or right-click it, the same as a name in the people list. - Card window: smaller and easier to read. The card with Buy, Sell and Trade on the left;
rank, power, ability and influence on the right; the market prices and graph under that.
"For sale" and "Latest sales" open when you click them. - Bug reports: a new Screenshots button lets you send your F11 screenshots with a report.
CHANGES
- Bug report attachments: only pictures, text and log files, and short videos
(mp4, webm) can be attached now. This keeps everyone safe from harmful files. - Challenge can be used once every 5 minutes. The button counts down until you can use it again.
- Create Room / Modify Room: Number of Players can't be 0 or negative, and "To" can't be
lower than "From".
FIXES
- "Left the lobby" now shows right away when someone logs out or closes THE HIVE.
It used to show up 30 seconds late. - The room info text in the middle bar stayed there after the room was gone.
- Camera pop-out: Close works even when the camera can't open, your own camera's pop-out
uses the camera that's already on, and closing THE HIVE closes the pop-out. - Camera pop-out: with "On top" ticked, it stays in front of THE HIVE's window.
- Some installed copies kept being told to update and couldn't. 0.1.7 installs by
itself when you sign in.

V0.1.4
Level Up
When you reach a new level, a LEVEL UP! celebration now plays above your XP bar, and you earn Hive Coins for each new level.
It uses your theme's colours. Theme > XP bar has new Level up colours and a "Test level up" button.
Chat (lobby and rooms)
Typing indicator: see "Name is typing..." above the chat box. This also works in the Pager.
Reply: hover a message and press ↩ Reply. Your message shows what you replied to, and clicking that jumps to the original.
Time stamps: every message shows its time, and a line marks when the day changes.
Came in / left: chat shows when people come into or leave the lobby or a room. A quick reconnect doesn't show.
Chat text size: Options > Chat text size goes from 80% to 200%. It's saved with your account, so it follows you to any PC.
Clicking a GIF no longer opens the picture viewer.
Pager
Pages now sit in two lanes, one for each side of the conversation, with names on top and bigger text.
Times show next to names.
You can pick the lane colours in Theme > Pager window.
Screenshot Links
Pager > Files: every F11 screenshot has a LINK button. Paste the link in lobby chat, a room, a page or a forum post, and it shows the picture. Click it to see it full size.
Only members signed in to THE HIVE can see it. Deleting the screenshot ends the link.
Password Resets
"I Forgot My Password" now works. If your name and email match, you get a temporary password by email.
The temporary password works once, for one hour. Your old password keeps working until you use the new one, so asking for a reset can't lock you out.
Shop: Update Clan / Guild
New item in Account Management: clan leaders can change their clan's tag, icon and name in one purchase.
The update box shows how your name will look before you pay.
Fixes
Password resets sent by staff no longer change your password if the email fails to send.
V0.1.5
Pager
Pages have flipped sides: yours are now on the left, theirs on the right.
The time sits next to each name.
Screenshots
F11 screenshots are now saved at your screen's full resolution (1440p, 4K) and higher quality. Before, they were shrunk to 1920 wide.
Screenshots open to fit your window at any size, and never sit under the EXIT button or the caption.
Linux (Wine / Proton / Lutris)
THE HIVE now installs and updates under Wine and Proton. Before, the installer wrongly said THE HIVE was still running and wouldn't continue.
Linux players need the new 0.1.5 Setup; the older Setup files won't install under Wine.
Text
Fancy fonts from "fancy text" generators (𝕷𝖎𝖖𝖚𝖎𝖉, ｗｉｄｅ, ⓑⓤⓑⓑⓛⓔ and the like) are no longer supported. They now show as normal letters, and decorative frames like ꧁༺ ༻꧂ are removed.
This covers chat, pages, profiles, guestbooks and clan names. Emoji, accents and other languages are not affected.
New accounts can't use fancy fonts in their names.
Fixes
Pressing Back from a room to its lobby now really leaves the room. Before, you could chat in the lobby while still missing from its people list. Forward takes you back into the room.
Making a new room while you're already in one now leaves the old room properly.
Fixed members appearing invisible when they shouldn't be.
Create Room and Modify Room: the Comment box can no longer be dragged wider than the window. It only grows taller.
THE HIVE PATCH 0.1.3 - NOW IN LIVE BETA
THE HIVE
Patch 0.1.3
Patch 0.1.3 is one of our largest updates yet.
This update brings major additions across The HIVE, including new lobbies, AVP 2010 support, game launching, a completely redesigned Pager, the new HIVE Wallet and Marketplace, Community Hubs, Clan and Guild Hubs, major Honor, Spells & Dragons integration, infrastructure upgrades, and much more.
THE HIVE IS NOW MOVING TO LIVE OPEN BETA
With the release of Patch 0.1.3, The HIVE is officially moving into LIVE OPEN BETA.
NO MORE LOCKOUTS.
You will no longer need to wait for a closed beta window or be locked out between testing periods. The HIVE will now remain live and accessible as we continue development, testing, and expansion.
This is a major milestone for us and for everyone who has helped test The HIVE up to this point.
From here forward, the doors stay open.
Windows Security & Digital Signing
We are also actively working on adding a digital signature to The HIVE Windows installer.
Until that process is complete, Windows may still display Microsoft Defender SmartScreen or other security warnings when installing a new build.
If you downloaded The HIVE from one of our official sources, this warning is related to the installer not yet being digitally signed.
Digital signing is in the works and will be added as soon as the process is completed.
Here is what is new in Patch 0.1.3.
Lobbies & Game Launching
• Added AVP 2010 support.
• Added game launching directly through The HIVE.
• Added several new lobbies, with additional lobbies already planned.
• Continued improvements to the overall lobby experience.
Pager
• Completely redesigned the Pager.
• Added a new Friend Request system.
Users can no longer simply add anyone to their Buddy List. Friend requests must now be accepted before someone is added as a buddy.
• Users can still Page other users who allow Pages through their privacy settings.
• Completely overhauled how buddies appear inside the Buddy List.
• Added additional Buddy List improvements and interface tweaks.
Notifications
• Added a new HIVE wide notification system.
Notifications can now be generated for Marketplace activity, Wallet activity, purchases, sales, trades, Gift Cards, events, and other systems throughout The HIVE.
• Notifications are delivered directly through the Pager where appropriate.
Navigation
• Added support for mouse Back and Forward buttons.
Users with supported mice can now navigate backward and forward through areas of The HIVE just like they would inside a web browser.
Chat Improvements
• Added new chat interaction controls to Lobbies and Rooms.
• Added additional action icons for interacting with messages.
• Added the ability to edit your own messages.
• Added GIPHY integration.
Users can now search for and post GIFs directly inside Lobbies and Rooms.
Voice, Cameras & Streaming
• Reworked our TURN infrastructure.
• Reworked our SFU infrastructure.
• Improved voice communication.
• Improved camera performance.
• Improved live streaming performance.
• Additional backend optimization has been made to improve stability and overall quality.
Server Infrastructure
• Upgraded physical server hardware.
• Added additional backend improvements for performance, reliability, administration, and maintenance.
KOTH Event Framework
The King of the HIVE Event Framework has now been implemented.
This is a large multipart event system designed to become the foundation for how major events, competitions, tournaments, and community activities are handled inside The HIVE.
Additional KOTH features and events will continue to roll out as testing progresses.
HIVE Wallet
• Added the new HIVE Wallet.
• Added PayPal integration.
• Added Stripe integration.
• Added transaction and receipt tracking.
• Added Wallet notifications.
• Added Gift Cards.
Gift Cards are stored directly inside your HIVE Wallet and Pager experience, with a special presentation when receiving one.
Marketplace & HIVE Shop
The new HIVE Marketplace and HIVE Shop are now integrated into The HIVE.
Users can now:
• Buy items.
• Sell items.
• Trade items with other users.
• Purchase items directly from the HIVE Shop.
• Receive Marketplace notifications.
• Receive purchase and sale receipts.
• Keep track of Marketplace activity through the HIVE Wallet and Pager.
Community Hubs
Every Lobby can now have its own Community Hub.
Community Hubs give each game, interest, or community inside The HIVE a permanent place to share information and interact outside of real time Lobby conversations.
Users can:
• Share screenshots.
• Share videos.
• Write reviews.
• Create guides.
• Start discussions.
• Follow community news.
• View upcoming events.
• Keep up with activity related specifically to that Lobby.
Screenshots
• Added built in screenshot support.
Press F11 to capture a screenshot while inside The HIVE or while playing a game.
Screenshots can then be used throughout supported areas of the platform, including Community Hubs and Clan Hubs.
Honor, Spells & Dragons
Honor, Spells & Dragons has received a major update alongside Patch 0.1.3.
Marketplace Integration
Honor, Spells & Dragons is now fully connected to The HIVE Marketplace, website, and game backend.
Players can now:
• Buy cards.
• Sell cards.
• Trade cards.
• Purchase Booster Packs.
• View real time Marketplace activity.
• Track individual card activity.
• Manage cards directly from the game.
• Manage cards through The HIVE Marketplace.
Card Marketplace Statistics
Right click a card to view Marketplace information for that specific card.
Players can see real time information about cards entering and leaving the Marketplace and quickly decide whether they want to buy, sell, or trade.
Secure Card Storage
User accounts and card collections are now stored through secure and redundant backend servers.
Your collection is tied directly to your HIVE account.
Marketplace Alerts
Players can now create one click Marketplace alerts for individual cards.
If a card you are looking for is listed for sale or trade, The HIVE can notify you and provide a direct link to the listing.
Season One Sandbox Deck Builder
Players can now experiment with the complete Season One card pool through the Sandbox Deck Builder.
This gives players the ability to theory craft and experiment with decks beyond the cards currently contained in their personal collection.
Deck Sharing
Decks can now be saved and shared.
Players can:
• Share complete decks directly to the Forums.
• Generate clickable deck links.
• Copy links to individual cards.
• Share builds with friends.
• Discuss deck strategies and theory crafting with the community.
Clan & Guild Hubs
One of the largest additions in Patch 0.1.3 is the introduction of Clan and Guild Hubs.
Clans have always been an important part of online gaming communities, and we wanted to build something much deeper than simply putting a tag next to someone's name.
Your Clan Hub is designed to become your clan's permanent home inside The HIVE.
Clan Charters
Creating a clan begins with purchasing a Clan Charter.
Choose your:
• Clan Name
• Clan Tag
• Clan Icon
• About information
Your Clan Charter appears inside your Pager alongside items such as Gift Cards.
The Charter can then be sent to the people you want to become the original Founders of your clan.
Once enough people sign the Charter, the clan is officially formed and your Clan Hub opens.
Everyone who signs the original Charter is permanently recognized as a Founder for the entire life of the clan.
The person who creates the Charter becomes the Clan Leader.
Dedicated Clan Hub
Every Clan receives its own dedicated Clan Hub.
Use it to:
• Organize members.
• Share information.
• Plan events.
• Recruit players.
• Post news.
• Share screenshots and videos.
• Create guides.
• Manage clan activity.
• Build a permanent history for your community.
Custom Clan Tags
Create your own Clan Tag, such as:
[HIVE]
Your tag can appear next to your members' names throughout supported areas of The HIVE.
Clan Management
Clan Leaders can control how their community operates.
Management tools include:
• Member management.
• Leadership permissions.
• Access controls.
• Recruitment management.
• Event management.
• Activity management.
• Public and private areas.
Clan Leaders decide who helps manage the clan, what members can access, and what the rest of The HIVE community can see.
Clan News
Clan Hubs support both public and private news.
Public posts can be shared with the entire HIVE community.
Private posts can be restricted to clan members.
Clan Content
Clan members can share:
• Screenshots.
• Videos.
• Guides.
• Strategies.
• Match results.
• Announcements.
• Clan history.
• Other community content.
Clan Events
Clans receive access to a complete Event System.
Create:
• Clan matches.
• Tournaments.
• Meetings.
• Training sessions.
• Community nights.
