THE HIVE

Patch 0.1.3

Patch 0.1.3 is one of our largest updates yet.

This update brings major additions across The HIVE, including new lobbies, AVP 2010 support, game launching, a completely redesigned Pager, the new HIVE Wallet and Marketplace, Community Hubs, Clan and Guild Hubs, major Honor, Spells & Dragons integration, infrastructure upgrades, and much more.

THE HIVE IS NOW MOVING TO LIVE OPEN BETA

With the release of Patch 0.1.3, The HIVE is officially moving into LIVE OPEN BETA.

NO MORE LOCKOUTS.

You will no longer need to wait for a closed beta window or be locked out between testing periods. The HIVE will now remain live and accessible as we continue development, testing, and expansion.

This is a major milestone for us and for everyone who has helped test The HIVE up to this point.

From here forward, the doors stay open.

Windows Security & Digital Signing

We are also actively working on adding a digital signature to The HIVE Windows installer.

Until that process is complete, Windows may still display Microsoft Defender SmartScreen or other security warnings when installing a new build.

If you downloaded The HIVE from one of our official sources, this warning is related to the installer not yet being digitally signed.

Digital signing is in the works and will be added as soon as the process is completed.

Here is what is new in Patch 0.1.3.

Lobbies & Game Launching

• Added AVP 2010 support.

• Added game launching directly through The HIVE.

• Added several new lobbies, with additional lobbies already planned.

• Continued improvements to the overall lobby experience.

Pager

• Completely redesigned the Pager.

• Added a new Friend Request system.

Users can no longer simply add anyone to their Buddy List. Friend requests must now be accepted before someone is added as a buddy.

• Users can still Page other users who allow Pages through their privacy settings.

• Completely overhauled how buddies appear inside the Buddy List.

• Added additional Buddy List improvements and interface tweaks.

Notifications

• Added a new HIVE wide notification system.

Notifications can now be generated for Marketplace activity, Wallet activity, purchases, sales, trades, Gift Cards, events, and other systems throughout The HIVE.

• Notifications are delivered directly through the Pager where appropriate.

Navigation

• Added support for mouse Back and Forward buttons.

Users with supported mice can now navigate backward and forward through areas of The HIVE just like they would inside a web browser.

Chat Improvements

• Added new chat interaction controls to Lobbies and Rooms.

• Added additional action icons for interacting with messages.

• Added the ability to edit your own messages.

• Added GIPHY integration.

Users can now search for and post GIFs directly inside Lobbies and Rooms.

Voice, Cameras & Streaming

• Reworked our TURN infrastructure.

• Reworked our SFU infrastructure.

• Improved voice communication.

• Improved camera performance.

• Improved live streaming performance.

• Additional backend optimization has been made to improve stability and overall quality.

Server Infrastructure

• Upgraded physical server hardware.

• Added additional backend improvements for performance, reliability, administration, and maintenance.

KOTH Event Framework

The King of the HIVE Event Framework has now been implemented.

This is a large multipart event system designed to become the foundation for how major events, competitions, tournaments, and community activities are handled inside The HIVE.

Additional KOTH features and events will continue to roll out as testing progresses.

HIVE Wallet

• Added the new HIVE Wallet.

• Added PayPal integration.

• Added Stripe integration.

• Added transaction and receipt tracking.

• Added Wallet notifications.

• Added Gift Cards.

Gift Cards are stored directly inside your HIVE Wallet and Pager experience, with a special presentation when receiving one.

Marketplace & HIVE Shop

The new HIVE Marketplace and HIVE Shop are now integrated into The HIVE.

Users can now:

• Buy items.

• Sell items.

• Trade items with other users.

• Purchase items directly from the HIVE Shop.

• Receive Marketplace notifications.

• Receive purchase and sale receipts.

• Keep track of Marketplace activity through the HIVE Wallet and Pager.

Community Hubs

Every Lobby can now have its own Community Hub.

Community Hubs give each game, interest, or community inside The HIVE a permanent place to share information and interact outside of real time Lobby conversations.

Users can:

• Share screenshots.

• Share videos.

• Write reviews.

• Create guides.

• Start discussions.

• Follow community news.

• View upcoming events.

• Keep up with activity related specifically to that Lobby.

Screenshots

• Added built in screenshot support.

Press F11 to capture a screenshot while inside The HIVE or while playing a game.

Screenshots can then be used throughout supported areas of the platform, including Community Hubs and Clan Hubs.

Honor, Spells & Dragons

Honor, Spells & Dragons has received a major update alongside Patch 0.1.3.

Marketplace Integration

Honor, Spells & Dragons is now fully connected to The HIVE Marketplace, website, and game backend.

Players can now:

• Buy cards.

• Sell cards.

• Trade cards.

• Purchase Booster Packs.

• View real time Marketplace activity.

• Track individual card activity.

• Manage cards directly from the game.

• Manage cards through The HIVE Marketplace.

Card Marketplace Statistics

Right click a card to view Marketplace information for that specific card.

Players can see real time information about cards entering and leaving the Marketplace and quickly decide whether they want to buy, sell, or trade.

Secure Card Storage

User accounts and card collections are now stored through secure and redundant backend servers.

Your collection is tied directly to your HIVE account.

Marketplace Alerts

Players can now create one click Marketplace alerts for individual cards.

If a card you are looking for is listed for sale or trade, The HIVE can notify you and provide a direct link to the listing.

Season One Sandbox Deck Builder

Players can now experiment with the complete Season One card pool through the Sandbox Deck Builder.

This gives players the ability to theory craft and experiment with decks beyond the cards currently contained in their personal collection.

Deck Sharing

Decks can now be saved and shared.

Players can:

• Share complete decks directly to the Forums.

• Generate clickable deck links.

• Copy links to individual cards.

• Share builds with friends.

• Discuss deck strategies and theory crafting with the community.

Clan & Guild Hubs

One of the largest additions in Patch 0.1.3 is the introduction of Clan and Guild Hubs.

Clans have always been an important part of online gaming communities, and we wanted to build something much deeper than simply putting a tag next to someone's name.

Your Clan Hub is designed to become your clan's permanent home inside The HIVE.

Clan Charters

Creating a clan begins with purchasing a Clan Charter.

Choose your:

• Clan Name

• Clan Tag

• Clan Icon

• About information

Your Clan Charter appears inside your Pager alongside items such as Gift Cards.

The Charter can then be sent to the people you want to become the original Founders of your clan.

Once enough people sign the Charter, the clan is officially formed and your Clan Hub opens.

Everyone who signs the original Charter is permanently recognized as a Founder for the entire life of the clan.

The person who creates the Charter becomes the Clan Leader.

Dedicated Clan Hub

Every Clan receives its own dedicated Clan Hub.

Use it to:

• Organize members.

• Share information.

• Plan events.

• Recruit players.

• Post news.

• Share screenshots and videos.

• Create guides.

• Manage clan activity.

• Build a permanent history for your community.

Custom Clan Tags

Create your own Clan Tag, such as:

[HIVE]

Your tag can appear next to your members' names throughout supported areas of The HIVE.

Clan Management

Clan Leaders can control how their community operates.

Management tools include:

• Member management.

• Leadership permissions.

• Access controls.

• Recruitment management.

• Event management.

• Activity management.

• Public and private areas.

Clan Leaders decide who helps manage the clan, what members can access, and what the rest of The HIVE community can see.

Clan News

Clan Hubs support both public and private news.

Public posts can be shared with the entire HIVE community.

Private posts can be restricted to clan members.

Clan Content

Clan members can share:

• Screenshots.

• Videos.

• Guides.

• Strategies.

• Match results.

• Announcements.

• Clan history.

• Other community content.

Clan Events

Clans receive access to a complete Event System.

Create:

• Clan matches.

• Tournaments.

• Meetings.

• Training sessions.

Automatic Event Notifications

Members who allow notifications can automatically receive Pages about upcoming Clan events.

Every Clan Hub includes a built in calendar.

Members can quickly see upcoming events and select individual days to view what is scheduled.

Clan Forums

Clan Leaders can create up to five custom Forum categories.

Each Forum can be configured as either public or private.

Forums can be used for:

• General discussion.

• Strategies.

• Match planning.

• Leadership discussions.

• Recruitment.

• Guides.

• Announcements.

• Anything else your clan needs.

Recruitment

Clan Hubs include a complete recruitment system.

Clan leadership can:

• Accept applications.

• Review applicants.

• Organize recruits.

• Manage the recruitment process.

• Handle membership directly through simple point and click controls.

Clan Fund

Members can contribute toward maintaining their Clan Hub through the Clan Fund.

The available Clan Fund balance is applied first toward the $3.99 recurring 30 day Clan Hub cost.

If the Clan Fund does not contain enough to cover the full amount, the remaining balance is paid by the Clan Leader.

Clans can also use earned Activity Coins toward this cost.

An active clan may be able to reduce or completely cover the cost of maintaining its Clan Hub through normal community participation.

Backend & Staff Tools

• Added numerous backend improvements.

• Added additional administrative tools.

• Improved systems used for staff operations.

• Improved maintenance tools.

• Continued optimization of services supporting The HIVE.

Additional Fixes & Improvements

Patch 0.1.3 also contains numerous smaller interface improvements, backend changes, quality of life updates, performance improvements, and fixes throughout The HIVE.

And we may still have a few surprises waiting for patch day.

Patch 0.1.3 Marks the Beginning of Open Beta

Patch 0.1.3 is more than another update.

With this release, The HIVE officially enters LIVE OPEN BETA.

No more closed beta weekends.

No more waiting for the next testing window.

NO MORE LOCKOUTS.

The HIVE will remain open while we continue improving, expanding, and building alongside the community.

We are also working toward digitally signing the Windows installer, which will help reduce the security warnings users may currently see during installation.
