Forza Mod Tool v1.2.5
Changes since v1.2.4.
DB Browser
- New themed DB Browser tab at the end of the tab bar: Database Structure, Browse Data, Execute SQL and database properties.
- Open FH6 GameDB SLT or SQLite in a private working copy; inspect schema, search/filter/sort/page records, and add/delete rows.
- Edit cells directly in the grid. Enter/Tab/click-away commits; Esc cancels. Numeric editors accept decimal dots or commas and validate before writing.
- Execute queries and modification scripts, selected SQL, F5/Ctrl+Enter, and SQL file import/export. Failed/cancelled scripts roll back together.
- Import/export CSV and SQL dumps; Write changes, Revert changes, and export new SQLite or encrypted FH6 SLT files.
- Working copies are independent of other tabs. Export/reload to transfer edits; originals remain untouched.
Forza Motorsport (2023)
- Automatic Crypto detection and authenticated decrypt/re-encrypt for supported FM GameDB, General text assets and CMS cache manifests.
- Decrypt/re-encrypt CMS entries and inspect/extract CMS archives, including extensionless cached ZIPs.
- Car Editor accepts decrypted FM SQLite for shared-schema edits, including engines, power, suspension, rims/tire widths and BaseCost. Unsupported FH6-only options are disabled.
- Separate native FM track-offset controls with input validation and reset to loaded values.
- Extract/rebuild supported method-21 LZX camera/car ZIP workspaces, preserving metadata, compression methods and unchanged payloads.
- Streaming, extract-only track ZIP support with automatic matching Dedupe.zip discovery, exact shared-asset references, CRC checks and background progress.
- Confirmed modified FM camera/car ZIPs and boost edits work in game; added rims displayed 0 CP.
- Install FM GameDB in
Forza Motorsport\Content\media\base\db\: preserve the original asgamedb.slt.bak, then place the new re-encrypted file there asgamedb.slt. There is no override folder.
FH6 ZIP rebuilding and interface
- Extract/rebuild supported FH6 ZIPs with encrypted deflate, plain deflate and stored entries. Drop the whole extracted folder or its round-trip manifest, then Re-encrypt.
- Rebuilds entry sizes/CRCs, encrypted authentication tags and archive offsets/alignment; validates output and writes new filenames only.
- Removed the manual Key dropdown; automatic format/key selection remains.
Packaging and important limits
- FM LZX needs a legally obtained x64
xcompress64.dllbeside the executable. It is not redistributed in this release because redistribution rights are unresolved; see NATIVE_RUNTIME.md. Other functions do not need it. - FM SLT editing/merging is not the direct FH6 SLT workflow: decrypt in Crypto, edit FM SQLite, then re-encrypt in Crypto with the original template.
- CMS price edits change the purchase preview, but buying returns a server error. BaseCost edits did not change tested shop prices. No working discounted-purchase mod or automatic CMS installer is claimed.
- Track archives are extract-only. ZIP rebuilding does not add/remove entries. Modified FH6 ZIPs and FM track-offset effects still need in-game verification.
- Back up originals and test edited/merged results in game. SQLite integrity does not guarantee game compatibility.
Extract FH6LocalModTool_v1.2.5.zip and run FH6ModStudio.exe on Windows 10/11 x64. Keep the animation helpers/licenses beside it. No separate .NET installation is needed.
v1.2.5 Hotfix — Build 1.2.5.1
- Fixed encrypted FH6 and FM databases being mistaken for plaintext SQLite because of their outer header.
- Fixed affected encrypted SLTs being rejected as re-encryption templates.
- Database loading and template validation now check the decrypted payload and SQLite integrity, not just the header.
- Damaged or unsupported files are still rejected. FM authentication checks remain enabled.
v1.2.5 — Build 1.2.5.2
- Fixed Merge updated DB incorrectly stopping with
UpgradePresetPackages:List_UpgradeMotor/List_UpgradeEngineforeign-key errors after the latest FH6 update. - Foreign-key warnings are now matched by their actual tables and column mappings, not SQLite's database-local constraint numbers. Reordering equivalent declarations no longer makes existing donor warnings appear new.
- Existing merge safety checks remain enabled, including rejection of excessive newly introduced broken references, input-change checks, schema checks, and output integrity checks.
