  • Confirmed compatibility with FH2 Extra Options. Track-width and tire-profile controls stay disabled for FH2; use the separate wheel mod.

Car Editor and databases

  • FH5/FH6 track widths now use mm per side, with in-game size labels, a default 5 mm step and a custom increment.
  • Existing track-width upgrades can be edited after reloading the DB. Reapplying also repairs older size labels, including batches.
  • Exported string tables use the mediapc\stripped\stringtables layout. Correct installed tables are reused.
  • Added car-bucket selection by name.
  • Added stock engine labels in car name - engine name format, plus stock-name restore. Generic engines keep their names; blank stock names use the donor car name.
  • Expanded Restore selected car to include related DB Browser edits. Engine names, donor engines and shared records are preserved.
  • Fixed older generated suspension tuning ranges when reapplying Race/Drift upgrades.
  • Expanded car DB export to include the related physics, upgrades, content records and thumbnail paths needed for sharing. External files stay separate.
  • Extended merge, update merge, car import/export and body-kit import to same-game FH2/FH5/FH6/FM8 databases.
  • Fixed update merges being blocked by unchanged old tables that are absent from the new DB.

Interface and help

  • Added a resizable DB Browser scratch pad with TXT import/export. Notes clear when the tool closes.
  • Added editable help for every tab. Help windows stay open while using the tool and match its theme.
  • Matched tab header sizes and moved Garage Viewer actions into its header.
  • Renamed the save export buttons to Export save; exported filenames are unchanged.
  • Removed Garage Viewer's manual GameDB-catalog button.
  • Profile decryption now writes the complete decrypted profile without creating a separate SQLite file.

Known limits

  • Online XP retention after earning XP and restarting is still unconfirmed.
  • Car Collection total of 4,500 / 4,480 remains unresolved.
  • Large power or handling changes can still raise PI to X999.
  • FH5 saves are decrypt-only. FH2 Storm Island finale/story completion is excluded.
  • FH2 saves and FM8 LZX operations need a separate x64 xcompress64.dll; see setup.

Forza Mod Tool v1.2.6.3

Changes from the original v1.2.6.2 release:

Profile Editor

  • Added searchable multi-select unlock lists for clothes, horns, emotes, Forza Link phrases and badges. Choose individual items or use Ctrl+A for the visible list; equipped items and VIP-managed clothing are preserved.
  • Added badge earned-date editing in UTC, with verified Festival Playlist date-window checks and explicit dates for unverified series.
  • Added Collection Journal editing with campaign/category/search filters, automatic category bonuses, points and Festival wristband progression. Compatible older/smaller saves are supported; missing or changed definitions stay read-only.
  • Journal completion also updates mapped race finish/win results, PR-stunt completion/PBs, Food Delivery rank/XP, boards/mascots, landmarks, full-region discovery and Story completion/stars. Better results are preserved; new PR PBs stay within 0–2% above the selected star cutoff.
  • Journal-linked horn and phrase selections now complete their requirements automatically. All 65 reward phrases are available, including the 33 Journal rewards. Preview lists changes before applying; repeated operations do not award points twice.
  • Added Wheelspins, Super Wheelspins and spendable Skill points fields. Driver level/prestige now follows XP, with a live result preview before applying XP.

Garage Viewer

  • Added a Missing cars only filter to Garage Add, combined with search and the loaded garage.
  • Separated traffic cars into an experimental traffic-only list. Six variants with ambiguous stock parts are excluded from Add; existing owned copies remain visible.

Fixes

  • Fixed the Skill points field showing the wrong balance or edits not sticking in-game. It now reads the spendable Car Mastery balance and updates both saved copies together.
  • Fixed Driver level showing a stale stored value. Level and prestige are now calculated from the game's XP curve.
  • Fixed Garage Add offering traffic variants that fail with ambiguous stock side-skirt errors. Those unsupported variants are excluded from Add without hiding existing owned copies.
  • Fixed normal car imports and database merges changing the receiving GameDB's version metadata and breaking stock-reference matching. The receiving version is now preserved; only Merge updated DB advances it.

Forza Mod Tool 1.2.6.2

  • Discover all roads and unlock save-managed clothes/horns in Profile Editor.
  • Complete Collection Journal challenges with automatic points, bonuses and Festival wristbands. Ctrl+A selects all listed challenges; clear filters first for the full journal.
  • Export several cars into one donor DB, and optionally Drop & rebuild those cars when importing.
  • Normal merges/imports preserve the receiving GameDB's VersionInfo; only Merge updated DB advances it.

Keep a full save backup and close the game before installing an edited export. The tool changes private working copies only; Save edited/Export creates a separate file. VIP/DLC ownership and online records are not granted or changed.

QOL Update and Unreleased car support

Save Swap hotfix

  • Fixed Save Swap's 0 candidates account-detection error for valid FH6 saves with a different binary career record order. Account identity is now read from the validated career header, not guessed from ActivationLocationSaveState. Both inputs and the new output are authenticated; the donor payload is preserved except for the receiving account's eight-byte ID. Originals remain untouched.

Car Editor

  • Added the default car preview beneath a half-height Activity Log, with a draggable divider. Auto-detects FH6 installs and custom Steam libraries, reads regular RC/HiRes ZIPs in memory, prefers HiRes. Manual folder/ZIP selection and offline fallback remain supported.
  • Car Editor and Garage Viewer share approved English in-game car names instead of MediaName codenames.
  • Hide only the three approved Initial Drive variants from FH6 car selection and Garage Add stock selection: 679 selectable models, with all 682 definitions retained. Existing owned variants remain visible and labelled for cleanup. IDs, MediaNames, database/save rows and stored years are unchanged; unknown/custom models keep the existing formatter.
  • Added Remove release date to the right of Available in Autoshow (This is unreleased cars). This takes effect immediately in the working copy, supports single/mixed multi-selection and batch rollback, and disables itself if the field is absent. Indeterminate/no-selection clicks cannot erase flags. This flag alone does not make a placeholder playable.
  • All Wheels & Fitment and Tires & Stance checkboxes start unchecked and reset unchecked on a new database load, including Drift suspension-limit removal and FM direct offsets. Existing values remain visible; only explicitly selected options are applied.

Garage Viewer

  • Actual per-car cached thumbnails take priority. Missing/unreadable cache images use transparent stock previews in both list rows and the large selected preview, clearly labelled as stock rather than saved paint/design/modifications.
  • Auto-detects stock packs from registered FH6 installs, Steam library metadata and common install paths. A manual stock-folder preference is remembered separately from Car Editor; Auto-find refreshes the garage cache manifest. Inputs remain read-only and images decode lazily at bounded sizes.
  • Owned Initial Drive instances stay visible for inspection/removal, retaining current/pending, barn-find and model-removal protections.

Forza Mod Tool v1.2.6

Changes since v1.2.5.

  • Standardized Motorsport display wording and documentation to FM8. Crypto resource identifiers and file-format handling are unchanged.

(NEW) Garage Viewer (FH6)

  • Batch-edit Original Owner, Distance Driven and Top Speed across selected cars. Check only the fields to replace; typing checks that field automatically, and mixed values remain unchanged unless chosen. Typed validation and writes are atomic across the whole selection. Invalid drafts retain the selection; applying a batch preserves it without selecting extra cars.

  • Selected cars now have a larger, higher-detail cached preview below their fields. The preview grows with the window/panel and uses a separate bounded cache. Rapid selection changes cannot leave an image from a previous selection; multi-selection clears the single-car image.

  • The owned list can be resized vertically against the selected-car fields and horizontally against the stock catalog. Collapsing the fields frees their space; reopening them restores the resized split for the current session.

  • Garage, catalog and selected-car panel scrollbars match the other tabs: slim, dark rounded thumbs with pink drag highlighting, in both orientations.

  • Added actual per-instance garage previews from FH6's local thumbnail cache, matched through the saved CTN reference and cache manifest. Visible/selected images load lazily at bounded sizes; absent previews remain placeholders instead of guessing from the model ID. Optional cache-folder selection is available. Cache files are read-only and not bundled. Windows WebP decoding support is needed for previews, not for garage editing.

  • Added editable Original Owner, Distance Driven and Top Speed fields for selected garage instances. They use the existing Career_Garage storage values (no guessed unit conversions); Original Owner does not change account identity. Apply, selection changes and export validate pending drafts. Invalid values retain the draft and block the action. Numeric writes are typed/parameterized; Top Speed accepts dot or comma on either regional layout. Revert restores original values.

  • Condensed the owned garage and stock catalog into collapsible, alphabetical manufacturer groups with counts. Search opens matching groups. Manufacturer labels come from the GameDB make records and shared friendly-name formatter.

  • Multi-select with Ctrl/Shift in both lists. Add selected cars creates one stock instance per selected model in an all-or-nothing transaction; an invalid model or failed insert leaves the entire batch unapplied. Remove selected retains current/pending, barn-find and model protections. Manufacturer headers offer Select all (catalog) and Select removable (garage, skipping protected/unknown models). Duplicate/current-car actions remain single-selection.

  • Updated the default embedded FH6 catalog to the verified 682-model game update, including all 11 new models. The older 671-model reference is retained for version-matched stock comparisons and merging older modded databases. New-version Car Editor comparison/restore now has a matching clean baseline as well.

  • Add a stock car from the catalog, duplicate an existing instance with its configuration/purchased parts, or remove selected instances and their linked purchased parts.

  • Set as current car updates the selected garage instance reference without changing the general garage Flags field. Export verification allows only this explicit profile-property change; pending selection and account/progress data remain untouched.

  • Reduced garage-list reads to seven displayed/reference columns instead of the entire configuration/tuning record. Friendly names are cached and catalog schema loading is limited to relevant tables.

  • Current/pending cars, barn-find VIN references and catalog removal locks are protected. Unknown garage-linked schemas are viewing-only.

  • Revert restores the original loaded snapshot. Export creates a new save, verifies encrypted payload round-trip, and preserves account and non-garage progress sections byte-for-byte.

  • Optional full FH6 GameDB catalog loading supports newer/custom model names and matching stock part IDs. Motorsport profiles/catalogs and sparse car-export catalogs are not supported.

  • Confirmed Add/Remove, changing the current car, and Original Owner/history-field edits working in game. Full save backups are still essential; adding a car does not grant collection rewards or alter career progression.

  • Removed the experimental label from Garage Viewer; the full-save backup reminder and reference protections remain.

  • Documented a garage recovery workflow for incompatible car instances after SQL Live Editor/GameDB edits. This is not a universal corrupt-save repair and requires a readable profile and a safely removable affected instance.

Temporary workspace

  • Temporary working copies use the normal Windows temporary folder (%TEMP%), usually on C:, under ForzaModTool\Work.

Car Editor

  • Added draggable width dividers for the car picker, options and activity panels. The engine/motor list has a bottom grip to resize its height, with a usable minimum. These are session-only layout changes; editor operations and existing custom controls are unchanged.
  • Renamed Slam it — drift suspension to Remove suspension limit — drift suspension.
  • Added a separate Remove suspension limit — race suspension checkbox, off by default.
  • Race uses the existing Drift lower-limit settings on its linked front/rear spring-damper physics rows, creating a Race upgrade from the car's stock suspension when needed.
  • Race does not expose a steering-angle field or overwrite existing Race steering angles. Drift keeps its steering-angle input and decimal dot/comma support.
  • Both options can be applied independently or together, including through the existing selected-car workflow. Repeated Apply does not add duplicate suspension upgrades.

DB Browser

  • Fixed Add record ignoring typed values while the storage type remained DEFAULT. Typing automatically selects the column's storage type; manual type selection remains available.
  • Untouched DEFAULT fields retain database defaults. Explicit DEFAULT/NULL choices clear the draft; empty TEXT and literal "NULL" remain distinct from SQL NULL.
  • Fixed Delete record requiring a current column: row-header and data-cell selections both work.
  • Pending inline edits are validated first. Deleting after changing a primary key uses the updated identity; no selection cannot delete a stale current record.

Crypto: FH6 profiles

  • Added C_ProfileData decrypt/re-encrypt to the existing Crypto buttons. Decrypt extracts a standalone C_ProfileData.sqlite for DB Browser or an external SQLite editor. Re-encryption reinserts the edited database into the matching original save template, preserving the other three sections byte-for-byte. Older full-payload .decrypted exports remain supported; Profile Editor and Garage Viewer still load complete profiles.
  • Added an independently remembered Profile template, shown instead of the DB template when a profile is staged. Profile SQLite is identified by its save-specific schema even if renamed, and is never re-encrypted as a GameDB. Committed WAL changes are included through a consistent SQLite snapshot; changing inputs abort without output.
  • Profile templates/outputs must authenticate; all section markers and embedded SQLite integrity are checked. Re-encryption verifies exact payload bytes. Corrupt inputs, wrong/missing templates and existing outputs are rejected; originals are never overwritten. Save Swap is unchanged, and FM8 profiles are not supported.

Forza Mod Tool v1.2.5

Changes since v1.2.4.

DB Browser

  • New themed DB Browser tab at the end of the tab bar: Database Structure, Browse Data, Execute SQL and database properties.
  • Open FH6 GameDB SLT or SQLite in a private working copy; inspect schema, search/filter/sort/page records, and add/delete rows.
  • Edit cells directly in the grid. Enter/Tab/click-away commits; Esc cancels. Numeric editors accept decimal dots or commas and validate before writing.
  • Execute queries and modification scripts, selected SQL, F5/Ctrl+Enter, and SQL file import/export. Failed/cancelled scripts roll back together.
  • Import/export CSV and SQL dumps; Write changes, Revert changes, and export new SQLite or encrypted FH6 SLT files.
  • Working copies are independent of other tabs. Export/reload to transfer edits; originals remain untouched.

Forza Motorsport (2023)

  • Automatic Crypto detection and authenticated decrypt/re-encrypt for supported FM GameDB, General text assets and CMS cache manifests.
  • Decrypt/re-encrypt CMS entries and inspect/extract CMS archives, including extensionless cached ZIPs.
  • Car Editor accepts decrypted FM SQLite for shared-schema edits, including engines, power, suspension, rims/tire widths and BaseCost. Unsupported FH6-only options are disabled.
  • Separate native FM track-offset controls with input validation and reset to loaded values.
  • Extract/rebuild supported method-21 LZX camera/car ZIP workspaces, preserving metadata, compression methods and unchanged payloads.
  • Streaming, extract-only track ZIP support with automatic matching Dedupe.zip discovery, exact shared-asset references, CRC checks and background progress.
  • Confirmed modified FM camera/car ZIPs and boost edits work in game; added rims displayed 0 CP.
  • Install FM GameDB in Forza Motorsport\Content\media\base\db\: preserve the original as gamedb.slt.bak, then place the new re-encrypted file there as gamedb.slt. There is no override folder.

FH6 ZIP rebuilding and interface

  • Extract/rebuild supported FH6 ZIPs with encrypted deflate, plain deflate and stored entries. Drop the whole extracted folder or its round-trip manifest, then Re-encrypt.
  • Rebuilds entry sizes/CRCs, encrypted authentication tags and archive offsets/alignment; validates output and writes new filenames only.
  • Removed the manual Key dropdown; automatic format/key selection remains.

Packaging and important limits

  • FM LZX needs a legally obtained x64 xcompress64.dll beside the executable. It is not redistributed in this release because redistribution rights are unresolved; see NATIVE_RUNTIME.md. Other functions do not need it.
  • FM SLT editing/merging is not the direct FH6 SLT workflow: decrypt in Crypto, edit FM SQLite, then re-encrypt in Crypto with the original template.
  • CMS price edits change the purchase preview, but buying returns a server error. BaseCost edits did not change tested shop prices. No working discounted-purchase mod or automatic CMS installer is claimed.
  • Track archives are extract-only. ZIP rebuilding does not add/remove entries. Modified FH6 ZIPs and FM track-offset effects still need in-game verification.
  • Back up originals and test edited/merged results in game. SQLite integrity does not guarantee game compatibility.

Extract FH6LocalModTool_v1.2.5.zip and run FH6ModStudio.exe on Windows 10/11 x64. Keep the animation helpers/licenses beside it. No separate .NET installation is needed.

v1.2.5 Hotfix — Build 1.2.5.1

  • Fixed encrypted FH6 and FM databases being mistaken for plaintext SQLite because of their outer header.
  • Fixed affected encrypted SLTs being rejected as re-encryption templates.
  • Database loading and template validation now check the decrypted payload and SQLite integrity, not just the header.
  • Damaged or unsupported files are still rejected. FM authentication checks remain enabled.

v1.2.5 — Build 1.2.5.2

  • Fixed Merge updated DB incorrectly stopping with UpgradePresetPackages:List_UpgradeMotor / List_UpgradeEngine foreign-key errors after the latest FH6 update.
  • Foreign-key warnings are now matched by their actual tables and column mappings, not SQLite's database-local constraint numbers. Reordering equivalent declarations no longer makes existing donor warnings appear new.
  • Existing merge safety checks remain enabled, including rejection of excessive newly introduced broken references, input-change checks, schema checks, and output integrity checks.

@HTTPJXRDN HTTPJXRDN released this 01 Oct 16:10

FH6 Local Mod Tool v1.2.4

Direct SLT workflow

  • Car Editor loads encrypted GameDB .slt files directly, edits a private working copy, and exports a new encrypted .slt by default. SQLite input/output remains available.
  • General Merge accepts SLT or SQLite in either area, including mixed formats. Output follows the top/base file's format.

Share and import one car

  • Export Car Related DB exports the selected car's related stock and modified rows to a merge-only SQLite donor: bodies, panels, fitment, upgrades, applicable presets, and linked engine/motor/physics records.
  • Import car DB imports that donor into a full GameDB, with optional Use donor values for conflicting rows of this car. Receiving-only rows remain.
  • Regular Merge retains its existing table/row picker; these two actions do not infer deletions.

Merge after a game update

  • Merge updated DB replaces the exposed Import widebody car button. Stage the clean updated full GameDB on top and your old modded full GameDB below.
  • Uses a three-way comparison against the clean baseline matching the old modded DB's VersionInfo.database_version.
  • Carries your additions, edited fields and deliberate deletions, including engine/motor upgrade rows removed for ICE/EV conversions. New official cars and untouched official values are retained.
  • Your edits win same-field conflicts; deliberate deletions of old keys win over official changes to those keys. A user-edited row removed by the update is preserved from the donor.
  • Keeps the new update's version stamp. Creates a new output without overwriting any input or baseline.
  • Selects the matching embedded reference automatically. Unknown/ambiguous versions request the unmodified full GameDB from the same version as the old modded DB. Older clean references are retained alongside future references; one verified baseline is currently included.
  • Preview shows addition/edit/deletion counts and blocks missing donor tables, known sparse car exports and incompatible schemas. Keyless tables use exact-content differences and duplicate counts; independently changed official/modded variants may coexist.

Version-aware stock reference and public source packaging

  • Car Editor matches its embedded stock reference to the loaded database version on each load. Unknown/ambiguous versions disable comparison/restore rather than using the wrong baseline.

Compatibility: Review and test merged results in-game before installing them permanently. Structural checks do not guarantee game compatibility. A single-car export is a merge donor, not a standalone GameDB. A matching version stamp does not prove an externally supplied baseline is unmodified.

Extract FH6LocalModTool_v1.2.4.zip and run FH6ModStudio.exe. Keep the included animation helpers/licenses beside it. No separate .NET installation is required.

FH6 Local Mod Tool v1.2.3

Changes since v1.1.3:

Unified app and animation editing

  • Renamed the app and arranged its tabs as Crypto → Car Editor → Animation Swap → Save Swap → Profile Editor, with Animation Swap integrated into the shared dark theme.
  • Added CLIPD channel management and supported animation-endpoint adjustments. Animation edits save to a separate, structurally checked file; CLIPD-to-GR2/Blender import and export are not included.
  • Added .skeld decoding to editable JSON and validated rebuilding in Crypto.

Car Editor

  • Added editable per-body wheelbase and bottom-center wheelbase-Z fields.
  • Fixed database switching and export so the selected car and displayed upgrades come from the newly loaded DB, and committed edits appear in the exported file.
  • Improved large batch edits with progress, grouped writes, and per-car handling when an upgrade-ID range fills up.
  • Applying engine settings no longer clears pending wheel edits, or vice versa.
  • Added widebody-kit creation for cars without factory widebodies. New kits contain the required body/default rows without automatically adding multiple optional visual parts. Cars that already have factory widebodies remain restricted after crash reports in testing.
  • Added one-at-a-time controls for front bumpers, rear bumpers, side skirts, hoods, and rear wings. Left-click adds one; right-click removes the last added non-stock option. Stock-reference and preset-linked parts are protected. Wings are car-wide in the database.

Focused widebody import

  • Added Import widebody car beside the existing general Merge action. It copies one selected donor car's new body IDs, related parts, body-specific fitment and physics rows, applicable presets, and rear-wing options into a new database without overwriting either input.
  • Added an unchecked-by-default Override conflicting rows option for donor changes to that car's existing rows. IDs owned by another car or body are protected; shared aero tuning may affect other cars if overridden.

Back up your GameDB and car files. The focused import passed isolated database tests, but every modded kit should still be tested in-game before distribution.

@HTTPJXRDN HTTPJXRDN released this 17 Sep 21:16
19e9492

FH6 Local Crypto Tool v1.1.2

Version 1.1.2 is a focused Car Editor hotfix for batch fitment and selected-engine mass editing.

Batch fitment corrections

  • Fixed repeatable track-width buttons so every click adds one exact +0.02 m level.
  • Multiple queued track choices are calculated from one fixed starting point. For example, three clicks after 0.04 create 0.06, 0.08, and 0.10 instead of skipping intermediate values.
  • Rim sizes, front/rear tire widths, tire profiles, and front/rear track offsets are now stored lowest-to-highest in their actual database row order.
  • Applying a fitment section also normalizes upgrade rows generated by older builds when they are out of order.
  • Existing non-stock choices remain intact, exact matches are not duplicated, and stock rows are never removed.
  • Stock values remain selectable in game but are not duplicated as upgrade rows. An apparent gap at the stock value in the editor is therefore intentional.

Selected-engine mass

  • Added Engine mass (kg) to the per-car power builder.
  • The field follows the engine dropdown and works with either the car's stock engine or an added engine swap.
  • It prefills and updates the selected Data_Engine.[EngineMass-kg] value, with an accepted range of 0–5000 kg.
  • Because engine mass belongs to a shared EngineID, every car using that engine receives the same base mass. The existing shared-engine warning now explains this behavior.
  • Engine-mass editing is intentionally disabled in multi-car batch mode so one absolute value cannot be applied accidentally to unrelated engines.

Verification and packaging

  • Tested row reordering against an in-memory clone of the real modded GameDB across rim-size, tire-width, tire-profile, and track-spacing tables.
  • Verified exact repeated track-step generation, engine-mass update/rollback, shared-car detection, and SQLite integrity.
  • Built as a self-contained Windows x64 executable. A separate .NET installation is not required.

FH6 Local Crypto Tool v1.1.1

@HTTPJXRDN HTTPJXRDN released this 17 Sep 02:22
097ca4a

FH6 Local Crypto Tool v1.1.1

Version 1.1.1 is a focused database-merge hotfix.

Whole-table replacement

  • Added Replace whole table (drop + rebuild) for donor tables that must completely replace their staged counterparts.
  • The selected staged table is dropped, recreated from the donor's complete CREATE TABLE definition, and populated only with donor rows.
  • Preserves primary keys, constraints, defaults, STRICT/WITHOUT ROWID properties, row IDs, indexes, and triggers.
  • Indexes and triggers are rebuilt after the row copy so donor triggers cannot alter imported data while it is being restored.
  • Foreign-key enforcement is explicitly disabled and verified before the transaction, preventing a replacement from being silently blocked by linked tables.
  • Rebuilt row counts and contents are compared in both directions with the donor before the output is accepted.
  • SQLite quick_check must pass before the completed database is written.

Clear merge behavior

  • The original per-table action is now labeled Merge rows. It remains an ID-based row upsert: selected matching rows are updated, new rows are inserted, and base-only rows remain.
  • Replace whole table (drop + rebuild) is visually separate and removes base-only rows from that selected table.
  • Sparse patch databases containing only selected tables or rows remain supported through Merge rows. Do not use whole-table replacement for a sparse table unless it intentionally represents that table's complete contents.
  • Neither the staged database nor donor database is overwritten. Every merge produces a new SQLite output.

Verification and packaging

  • Tested with related wheel-category and annotation-style tables, including obsolete base rows, foreign keys, custom indexes, triggers, and tables without explicit primary keys.
  • Confirmed that rebuilt tables match donor rows and row IDs exactly and that obsolete staged rows are removed.
  • Whole-table replacement was independently confirmed against a real modded database.
  • The Windows x64 executable is genuinely self-contained and does not require a separate .NET installation.
