Fartmageddon: a simulator of an old man for whom every day feels like the final level of Doom

Today’s seniors don’t have it easy — self-checkout machines, chasing discounts, or fighting for a seat on public transport. And on top of that, there are TikTokers and scooter riders everywhere. But what if all of that became a game?

Fartmageddon is an unconventional game that humorously simulates the everyday life of a “Back in my day…” pensioner in a modern world full of pitfalls and absurdities — like hobby horsing, random dance crowds, or influencers. Players take on the role of Jan, a senior from an unnamed Czech town (definitely not Beroun), and face “missions” such as:

• getting as many diagnoses as possible from the doctor

• taming a runaway wheelchair

• fighting for a seat on public transport

• grabbing discounted butter before anyone else

Of course, modern-day hazards won’t be missing — tricky self-checkouts, shady digital scammers, or unpredictable “YouTube kids.” The game is built on humor and absurd situations — bugs are a welcome part of the experience, and graphics take a back seat to fun.

The project is being developed in the Godot engine and is currently in an early stage. The game will continue to evolve and respond to community feedback.
