Highlights

v0.9.0 is a new release with both low-level rearchitecturing for performance, safety and better web presence as well as new functionality such as a completely new desktop viewer Bonsai Viewer. This is the last major stepping stone before IfcOpenShell version 1.0

  1. A ground-up rewrite of the C++ IFC data model and parser (the "v1.0 data
    model"): a weak_ptr-based instance model, a plug-in architecture for schemas,
    geometry kernels and serializers, better testing of the RocksDB back-end, lazy/paged parsing

  5. Python bindings performance: -fastproxy, -fastdispatch, elimination of the wrapped_data indirection, single call set_attribute() instead of back and forth on type negotiation
  6. Geometry: Manifold and Passthrough geometry kernels. Iterator settings to match Bonsai behaviour in C++ (MaxVoidsPerElement, context priorities). Tree split in BVH / BREP.
