Highlights

Custom vocabulary actually works now. The Settings field was a placebo: the frontend never sent it and the Rust config had no field for it. Words typed there now bias Parakeet's decoder toward them (modified_beam_search with a bpe vocabulary derived from the model's own tokens). Leave it empty and the faster greedy path is used unchanged. Whisper has no bpe vocabulary to bias, so the field is Parakeet-only — and the UI now says so instead of failing silently.

The onboarding mic test was inert. "Test Microphone" called an empty function and the level bar read state that nothing ever set. It now uses the same capture path as Settings and shows a live level.

Insights stopped inventing numbers. When the backend returned no weekly data, the chart multiplied heatmap activity levels by 300 and rendered the result as word counts. It now charts only real per-day counts.

Accessibility & polish

• Skip link and a <main> landmark; heading hierarchy fixed to a single <h1>
• Visible focus rings on the six inputs that previously signalled focus by border colour only
• The push-to-talk overlay announces recording state to screen readers
• All four dialogs (settings, mic permission, dictionary add/delete) use the native <dialog> element: platform focus trap, Escape, inert background, top-layer stacking — replacing hand-rolled handlers
• Tab switcher has proper tablist/tab roles with arrow-key navigation
• Typography: real ellipses, non-breaking spaces before units, tabular numerals on live counters, balanced headings
• Settings warns before discarding unsaved edits; History deletions ask for confirmation
• prefers-reduced-motion respected across animations

Smaller

• Dropped the framer-motion dependency (4 packages) for two entrance effects now done in CSS
• Removed dead code: utils/platform.ts, unused Button variants, the never-invoked test_microphone command, VoiceIntelligence's unused prop
• CI now actually gates master; both formatters brought back to green repo-wide
• Release pipeline: macOS dropped (unsigned builds are blocked by Gatekeeper), and the release job finally gets past setup

• Builds: Linux (AppImage, deb, rpm) and Windows (msi, exe). macOS is not built.
• Custom vocabulary applies to the Parakeet profile only.
