InterTune

InterTune is a music player for Android. It plays YouTube Music, and it plays music files you already keep on your phone or SD card. It is a fork of OuterTune, which means it started life as a copy of that app and then went its own way. Upstream OuterTune stopped supporting YouTube Music in February 2026 and has not been touched at all since April 2026, so InterTune carries its own fixes, the main one being that YouTube Music songs play all the way through again instead of cutting out after about half a minute. It is one person's project, kept public because other people find it useful. If something is broken, say so on InterTune's issues rather than upstream's, because upstream is not reading theirs.

Pages

  • Music library. The three kinds of playlist, which ones you can edit, and how each one relates to your YouTube Music account.
  • Local media. How to point the app at music files already on your phone, and what all the scanner settings do.
  • Downloading songs. Saving songs so they play with no connection, where those files end up, and how to bring in files you got somewhere else.
  • Playback and audio quality. The Player and audio settings, including audio quality, skipping silence, and how much data the app uses.
  • Volume and loudness. Why some songs blare out louder than others, what InterTune does about it, and the button that repairs the songs it knows nothing about.

  • FAQ. Short answers to the questions that come up most, starting with the 403 error that InterTune exists to fix.
