v0.8.1 "Share Cards"
RC Central v0.8.1 — "Share Cards"
Your car setups become shareable cards, and the app's supply chain gets the same signature gate as the updater.
Setup share cards
- Garage ▸ Share renders any saved car as a 1200×675 card PNG — setup diagram, gearing, and notes — with the full setup data embedded in the image itself.
- Import a card back three ways: open the PNG, drag-drop onto the Garage (multi-file works), or paste its
RCSETUP1text code. Either way the car is recreated, ready to save. - Codes are plain text, so they paste cleanly into Discord and forums; emoji/CJK notes round-trip safely.
- Hardened against hostile input: zlib-bomb guards, size caps, and gearing values validated against the same domains the Gear tab enforces.
The tool catalog is now signed
- The remote catalog dictates every download URL and every exe a tool launches, so it now carries the same Ed25519 gate as the self-updater: the app verifies
catalog.json.sigagainst its pinned key and falls back to the bundled copy if anything is off — fail closed, never fail open. - CI re-signs the catalog automatically whenever it changes on
main.
Sturdier install & launch
- Installs are atomic: the old tool version is sidelined and rolled back on any failure, instead of being deleted before the new one extracts.
- Launched vendor tools are fully detached — closing RC Central mid-firmware-flash no longer kills the flasher.
- Crash guards across every corrupt-state path found in a 5-round review: tool state files, settings values, car JSON on disk and on import, PDF-viewer geometry, and backup restores that now surface real disk errors instead of failing silently.
Supply-chain CI
- Every GitHub Action pinned to a commit SHA, with Dependabot keeping the pins current.
- Catalog validation now health-checks driver URLs and excludes schema-invalid entries from the published bundle.
Integrity
As since v0.7.1: every binary ships with a .sha256 and an Ed25519 .sig; the in-app updater verifies both before staging.
v0.8.0 "Factory"
RC Central v0.8.0 — "Factory"
The app gets a real coat of paint, your colours, and the factory setup sheets of 25 drift chassis baked in.
A polished UI
- One design system across every tab: flat underline tabs with a clear main/sub hierarchy, consistent spacing, bordered inputs with focus rings, alternating table rows, grouped Settings.
- 10pt base font and a roomier default window (1075×791, now also the minimum — smaller would clip the Garage's three-column layout).
- Works identically in dark and light — the whole stylesheet is palette-driven, so both themes share one source of truth.
Make it yours
- Settings ▸ Appearance ▸ Accent colour… — pick any colour; tabs, selections, highlights, the setup diagram and the update banner follow live, in both themes. Text on the accent flips black/white automatically so light colours stay readable. One click resets to the stock blue.
Factory setups, from the actual manuals
- The Garage's Factory and Reset buttons now know the printed factory values for 25 of 27 supported chassis — mined from official vendor build manuals and setup sheets (Rêve D, Yokomo, MST, Overdose, Onisiki), page-cited in the source.
- Only vendor-printed values are seeded; anything a manual doesn't state stays blank, and where a vendor's variants disagree (MST S PRO/GT/Classic/RTR) the conflicting field is left empty rather than guessed.
- Bonus gearing fixes from the same sweep: MST RMX 3.0's kit spur/pinion resolved (87T/25T, printed), Overdose GALM and Vacula gained their chart-printed internal ratios, and Rêve D RDX's included 20T pinion is now recorded.
Integrity
As since v0.7.1: every binary ships with a .sha256 and an Ed25519 .sig; the in-app updater verifies both before staging.
v0.7.3
The catalog nearly triples: 12 to 34 entries, and the Workshop learns what your car is made of.
Catalog: 19 installable tools, 15 reference cards
The Japanese drift ecosystem is finally covered. New tools: KO Propo (ICS Servo Manager, EX-Xpansion Manager, EX-NEXT Updater + Backup Manager, VFS-FR3 Manager), Yokomo SP-USBP servo programmer, Futaba GYD560 gyro updater, G-Force USB Link, Sanwa PC-LINK MANAGER 3, FlySky Receiver Upgrade Updater, Power HD USB-Link and the LRP Firmware Update Tool.
New reference cards cover gear with no PC software at all, including a Chassis category with build manuals for the YD-2 / SD / RD, MST RMX and FXX, Overdose GALM and Divall, Reve D RDX and the Onisiki Kodama.
Every URL was fetched and every archive unpacked before it was written down. The existing 12 entries were re-audited too - Yokomo's homepage had quietly become a soft-404, and Hobbywing's only manual link pointed at a page the entry already linked twice.
Workshop
Part suggestions. Chassis, Motor, ESC, Servo and Tires now offer the parts people actually run, with type-ahead - and still accept anything you type. Whatever you enter once is offered back next time.
Gearing defaults per chassis. Pick "Reve D RDX" and the Gearing tab starts at that chassis's real internal ratio instead of a generic 1.9. Covers 20 chassis, and every number came off an official vendor document - where a vendor doesn't publish one, the entry is deliberately absent rather than guessed. It only ever fills in gearing you have never touched; your own setup is never overwritten.
Fixes
- The internal-ratio field was capped at 5.0 and rounded to 2 decimals, so mid-motor chassis (MST FXX 6.873, FRX 8.182) were silently clamped and produced a wrong final drive ratio. Now 12.0 and 3 decimals.
.rarand zip-inside-a-zip downloads now install, using Windows' own archive support - no new dependencies.- A catalog entry using a new archive type would have been rejected at startup and stranded you on a stale cached catalog.
Windows will warn you the first time - see the README's Download section. Every binary ships a .sha256 and an Ed25519 .sig; all three hashes match GitHub's own asset digests and the signature verifies against the key pinned in the app.
v0.7.2 — Polish
The polish release: the window is up before you finish letting go of the mouse, and every action that used to fail silently now says something.
Speed
- Instant startup — the tool list is seeded straight from disk and refreshed in the background, so the window opens fully populated instead of waiting on the network
Polish
- Deleting a car asks first, and confirms what it deleted
- "Check for updates now" tells you the outcome — up to date, staged, or failed — instead of leaving you guessing
- Download failures explain themselves in plain language; the raw error goes to Settings ▸ Log
- Empty-state hints on the Gearing pane and an empty Garage, so a fresh install isn't a blank panel
- Compare-car differences now use the app accent colour, readable in both themes
- Minimum sizes on the window and dialogs — no more shrinking the UI into unusable slivers
- About RC Central… in Settings ▸ Preferences, and keyboard mnemonics on the Garage buttons
Verify your download: certutil -hashfile RCCentral-windows-x64.exe SHA256 and compare with the matching .sha256 asset. Each binary also ships a raw 64-byte Ed25519 .sig, which the in-app updater checks automatically.

v0.7.1 — Workshop
The consolidation release: three car tabs become one Workshop, and from here on every self-update must prove where it came from.
App
- Workshop tab — Garage, Gearing, and Tuning merged into a single tab with a shared active-car header: pick the car once, every pane follows (7 tabs down to 4)
- Gear ratio chart inline in the Gearing pane, with the pinion sweep in its own dialog; reverse-solve a target FDR straight to a pinion
- Settings absorbs the log viewer as a Preferences | Log sub-tab pair
Security
- Ed25519-signed releases — CI now signs every release binary with a key only CI holds; starting with this version, the app refuses to stage a self-update whose signature doesn't verify against its pinned public key
- Interrupted-update recovery on startup — a half-applied swap can no longer leave you without a working exe
- Atomic garage writes with corrupt-entry recovery; stricter catalog validation and safer install-path handling
Verify your download: certutil -hashfile RCCentral-windows-x64.exe SHA256 and compare with the matching .sha256 asset. Each binary now also ships a raw 64-byte Ed25519 .sig, which the in-app updater checks automatically.
