Self evaluation and group evaluation
##One last assignment for you!
As the semester draws to a close, we ask that you take a few minutes and evaluate your performance in the class group, as well as the performance of others in your class group. We'll take this feedback into account when assigning your grade for the final -- keep in mind that your 300-point final grade is split evenly between a group grade and an individual grade.
###Why do you need these evaluations?
As instructors, we have a sense for what's happening in your groups and we have records of your class attendance and participation and the questions you've asked. We can also look through the commit history on Github to get a sense of work you've done. But we also know that not everything you do shows up in Github, and that group work often means one person's pushing changes and the others are still contributing. We also know that some things a member works on might wind up being dead ends and aren't incorporated into the final design. So this is a chance for you to let us know what you did, and what your other group members did.
###How do you want us to write feedback for the group?
Like so:
Self evaluation:My main contribution was the initial designs and mockups. I helped style the branding and added code where I felt I could. I also did a lot of commits when we were working as a group, because it was easier for us to huddle around my computer. I wasn't able to make it to one of our initial group meetings because i was on a trip, so to make up for that I was in charge of making our presentation slides.
Person McPerson (10/10)
Person was always willing to help explain, did the majority of the coding and was very responsive on Slack.
Helpful Harry (8/10) Harry wasn't the best at design or coding, but he always made an effort to review things and kept us in communication with Elizabeth & Rob.
Obnoxious Olivia (5/10)
Olivia was toxic to the group. She took control of the entire project and never let the rest of us understand or contribute.
Larry Slacker (0/10)
If it weren't for Slack, I would have no idea who this person is. He didn't contribute code, design, UX, planning…I'm actually not sure what he did. We'd ask him a question & get a response days later.
###When is this due?
By our final time, 12:30 p.m. on Monday, May 9.
###How should we submit it?
You can send it in a DM to Elizabeth and Rob on Slack, or via email to Elizabeth and Rob. Please make sure to copy us both in.
