Demo Studio v0.1.3

Story-first, local-first skills and tools for product walkthroughs: brief, storyboard, narration, scene review, real browser recording, rendering, and skeptical final-video review.

Install

Use the Getting Started guide. Skills-only, source, and checksum-verified compiled archive installations are supported. No npm registry package is published.

Install the toolkit and runtime from this same release. The toolkit descriptor pins the exact runtime bytes and file inventory. Yarn Plug'n'Play integrations use the public capsule launcher and stdio MCP boundary; doctor never silently installs or repairs a runtime.

Changes

  • Explicit browser-to-video clock contracts require clock/document/reset identities, exact evidence references, both measured presentation brackets, and declared timestamp precision. Mapping uses one fixed offset; drift and composed uncertainty must fit one frame (34 ms at 30 fps).
  • Configurable uniform-RGB and RGB-range marker decoding preserves original geometry and actual frame PTS. Missing, ambiguous, or incomplete edges fail closed, with raw numeric diagnostics retained.
  • Remotion's routine download and rendering logs no longer corrupt MCP JSON-RPC stdout. The strict parser is unchanged.
  • Legacy capture limits are configurable and validated before capture/decode. Defaults remain 50 ms drift and 100 ms uncertainty; frame spacing explains rejection rather than automatically widening a gate. Capture overrides do not change audit approval requirements.
  • A seventh composable skill, demo-production-pipeline, covers scouting, rehearsal, per-plan fixture resets, serialized voice/render work, and coordinator handoffs. Native 1× speech/playback remains the default; timing failures are investigated, not hidden with automatic acceleration or extra slack.

Validation

Exact-head Node 22/24 CI passes 104 tests, installed-package doctor, strict minimal-consumer Yarn PnP capture/render, dynamic MCP discovery, restart reuse, synthetic workflow checks, skill validation, and export scanning. See REVIEW.md and SHA256SUMS for exact source, package provenance, and limitations.

Example and limits

The previously published captioned Fieldnote walkthrough is unchanged. It demonstrates an original fictional application with synthetic records, adding a chart, widening it, and opening a read-only view. It is captioned, not narrated; this release does not certify a live speech provider or publish a new demo recording.

Clock bindings are structural caller-evidence checks, not authentication or proof that the correct recording was selected. Applications must wire the contract to their actual emitter/video artifacts. A short pulse does not prove whole-video synchronization. Each generated demo still needs independent screen/speech/UX review; successful rendering or an integrity hash is not semantic approval.

Original code is MIT licensed. Dependencies and voice providers retain their own terms, including Remotion's separate licensing terms. Earlier tags and assets remain unchanged.

Demo Studio v0.1.2

Story-first, local-first skills and tools for product walkthroughs: brief, storyboard, narration, scene review, real browser recording, rendering, and skeptical final-video review.

Install

Follow the Getting Started guide. Choose skills-only installation, a source build, or a checksum-verified compiled toolkit archive. No npm registry package is published.

The toolkit and standalone runtime archives belong to this same release. Yarn Plug'n'Play integrations use the public capsule launcher and stdio MCP boundary; explicit installation verifies the runtime digest and owned-file inventory. Doctor never silently installs or repairs a runtime.

Changes

  • Safe host exports and an integrity-pinned standalone runtime remove the minimal-consumer PnP peer-resolution failure in v0.1.1.
  • Durable installation receipts, explicit timeout reconciliation, tamper detection, and Node/OS/architecture/Linux-libc cache separation.
  • Eight discovered MCP tools: doctor, prepare, generate, status, preview, review, reconcile, and cleanup. Async generation retains its process; completed artifacts are reused after restart.
  • Corrected the fictional example's computed percentage and removed editing affordances from its read-only view, with real-browser regression coverage.
  • Six composable skills, portable schemas and interfaces, workflow/privacy/contribution documentation, and optional supplied audio, Voicebox, or ElevenLabs configuration.

Validation

Exact-head CI and post-merge CI pass on Node 22 and 24, including 48 tests, toolkit-only Yarn PnP, installed capture/render, restart reuse, stale-review rejection, and export scanning. A separate anonymous public-clone installation, build, doctor, skill/link checks, and Git-history secret scan pass on explicit Node 24.21.0.

See REVIEW.md for the exact independently reviewed source and media hashes and remaining limitations. The independent diagnostic assessment is not a tool-submitted mission approval; the retained candidate still awaits its formal review decision. Only the allowlisted packages, video, poster, report, and checksums are attached; diagnostic render bundles and machine-local run state are not release assets.

Example and limits

The original fictional Fieldnote example adds a populated chart, widens it, and opens a read-only shared view. It is captioned, 27.8 seconds, 1440×900 at 30 fps, native 1× playback, with no audio track. It is shorter than its soft 35-second target; narration is never accelerated to meet a clock. Optional speech uses your own authorized files or provider configuration and was not certified as a live speech provider by this captioned example.

Synthetic loopback sharing does not certify a production application's authentication or external reachability. Independent semantic review and operator disposition of serious UX findings remain required for each actual demo; generated review packets are evidence, not automatic approval.

The toolkit's original code is MIT licensed. Dependencies and voice providers retain their own terms, including Remotion's separate licensing terms.

Earlier tags and assets remain immutable. Use this patch release for new runtime and PnP installations.

Demo Studio v0.1.1

@calltelemetry-jason calltelemetry-jason released this 02 Oct 05:29
ae5c064

Demo Studio v0.1.1

A packaging compatibility repair for the story-first demo toolkit. The initial
v0.1.0 release and its assets remain unchanged.

Fixed

  • Align Zod with the MCP SDK's supported peer range so real Yarn PnP consumers
can import the production archive and start the MCP server.
  • Derive CLI/MCP versions and CI archive names from package metadata.
  • Add a real production-archive PnP regression covering peer resolution, module
import, MCP startup, and discovery of all eight tools.

Known Yarn Plug-and-Play limitation

A later, stricter consumer test found an additional Remotion/React peer failure
when the consumer installs only this toolkit. The initial PnP regression's test
client supplied ancestor React/SDK dependencies and masked this case. The Zod
repair is valid, but v0.1.1 is not yet qualified for toolkit-only PnP consumers.
The documented npm installation/capture/render path remains validated. A fix
and a minimal-consumer regression are in progress; no private overrides or
consumer-supplied React workaround are being treated as acceptance evidence.

Included

Six portable skills, a skills-only Claude plugin, source and compiled CLI/MCP,
browser recording, optional narration, rendering, schemas, resumable receipts,
hash-bound reviews, privacy checks, contribution guidance, and an original
fictional application for the credentials-free quickstart.

The captioned Fieldnote video and poster are byte-identical to the example
reviewed for v0.1.0. They are not new recordings or a live speech-provider
qualification. See REVIEW.md for media hashes, review coverage, and retained
nonblocking limitations.

Getting started

Follow the quickstart
for source installation or production-archive use. No private repository,
service, lab, credentials, or voice sample is needed for the captioned path.
Optional supplied audio, Voicebox, and ElevenLabs use the operator's own
authorized configuration. Native playback defaults to 1×.

Validation

PR #2 was tested at exact head
2fb9e6af94810aac7360a3ae7e325b376be85be2.
Linux CI
passed on Node.js 22 and 24, including the production-archive PnP regression
and installed-runtime synthetic capture/render checks. A separate fresh clone
passed type checking, build, six-skill validation, source/archive privacy scans,
and a Git-history secret scan. Its repacked archive matches the checksum below.
Independent source/package/privacy review found no P0/P1 finding and separately
verified production npm and Yarn PnP MCP startup. The merged main commit
ae5c0640d5b80fdf195443cd82f52573e50d56e8 has the identical reviewed tree.
Post-merge CI
also passed on both Node versions at that exact main commit.

Toolkit source is MIT licensed; dependencies retain their own terms, including
Remotion's separate licensing.

SHA-256 of the compiled archive:

This release does not claim complete private-consumer cutover, private product
UX acceptance, or live narration-provider validation.

Demo Studio v0.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@calltelemetry-jason calltelemetry-jason released this 02 Oct 02:56
4108e24

Compatibility update: use v0.1.1 for new installations. v0.1.0 has an MCP SDK/Zod peer mismatch under Yarn Plug-and-Play; npm's nested dependency resolution masked it in the initial checks. The v0.1.0 tag and downloadable assets remain unchanged.

Demo Studio v0.1.0

A story-first toolkit for planning, recording, narrating, rendering, and reviewing product demonstrations.

  • Six portable agent skills, a skills-only Claude plugin, and installation guidance for Codex and other agents.
  • Standalone Playwright recording, human typing, continuous cursor positions, and purposeful mouse movement.
  • A CLI and eight MCP tools with durable receipts, hash-keyed caches, restart recovery, and explicit timeout reconciliation.
  • Supplied audio and optional user-configured Voicebox or ElevenLabs narration at native 1× speed.
  • Schemas, sampled-video audits, hash-bound approvals, and up to six targeted review rounds.
  • An original fictional application that runs without credentials or private services.

Start here

Read the Getting Started guide. Clone the tagged source or install the compiled jbjmllc-demo-studio-0.1.0.tgz archive, then run doctor before capture.

The example below is captioned, not audio-narrated. Optional speech uses your own configuration; no voice profile or cloning samples are included.
