Demo Studio v0.1.3
Story-first, local-first skills and tools for product walkthroughs: brief, storyboard, narration, scene review, real browser recording, rendering, and skeptical final-video review.
Install
Use the Getting Started guide. Skills-only, source, and checksum-verified compiled archive installations are supported. No npm registry package is published.
Install the toolkit and runtime from this same release. The toolkit descriptor pins the exact runtime bytes and file inventory. Yarn Plug'n'Play integrations use the public capsule launcher and stdio MCP boundary; doctor never silently installs or repairs a runtime.
Changes
- Explicit browser-to-video clock contracts require clock/document/reset identities, exact evidence references, both measured presentation brackets, and declared timestamp precision. Mapping uses one fixed offset; drift and composed uncertainty must fit one frame (34 ms at 30 fps).
- Configurable uniform-RGB and RGB-range marker decoding preserves original geometry and actual frame PTS. Missing, ambiguous, or incomplete edges fail closed, with raw numeric diagnostics retained.
- Remotion's routine download and rendering logs no longer corrupt MCP JSON-RPC stdout. The strict parser is unchanged.
- Legacy capture limits are configurable and validated before capture/decode. Defaults remain 50 ms drift and 100 ms uncertainty; frame spacing explains rejection rather than automatically widening a gate. Capture overrides do not change audit approval requirements.
- A seventh composable skill,
demo-production-pipeline, covers scouting, rehearsal, per-plan fixture resets, serialized voice/render work, and coordinator handoffs. Native 1× speech/playback remains the default; timing failures are investigated, not hidden with automatic acceleration or extra slack.
Validation
Exact-head Node 22/24 CI passes 104 tests, installed-package doctor, strict minimal-consumer Yarn PnP capture/render, dynamic MCP discovery, restart reuse, synthetic workflow checks, skill validation, and export scanning. See REVIEW.md and SHA256SUMS for exact source, package provenance, and limitations.
Example and limits
The previously published captioned Fieldnote walkthrough is unchanged. It demonstrates an original fictional application with synthetic records, adding a chart, widening it, and opening a read-only view. It is captioned, not narrated; this release does not certify a live speech provider or publish a new demo recording.
Clock bindings are structural caller-evidence checks, not authentication or proof that the correct recording was selected. Applications must wire the contract to their actual emitter/video artifacts. A short pulse does not prove whole-video synchronization. Each generated demo still needs independent screen/speech/UX review; successful rendering or an integrity hash is not semantic approval.
Original code is MIT licensed. Dependencies and voice providers retain their own terms, including Remotion's separate licensing terms. Earlier tags and assets remain unchanged.
