The phone remote already works on an iPhone without an app. Open the speaker's settings in the STR desktop app, scan the QR code with the iPhone camera, then in Safari tap Share and "Add to Home Screen". From then on it opens from its own icon like an app.

I'll keep this thread as the idea for a native iOS app, so others can vote on it with the upvote arrow. Votes help me decide what comes next. Full backlog: #390

Great news: the native iOS app, STR Remote, is now available! 🎉

It is currently available in the App Stores for Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Over the course of next week, it will also be released in more than 120 additional countries.

You are the developer? If yes, I’d have a request 😁 Would it be possible to extend the App with a Version for the Apple Watch (just basic features: Power on/off, volume, select preset). Thank you 🙏

STR Remote is made by @Wagges, not by me, so that request is theirs to answer. For STR itself there is an idea for an Apple Watch app in #1224, vote there if you want it. Until then, a shortcut in Apple's Shortcuts app can switch the speaker, set the volume or start a preset, and it shows up on a paired Watch by itself: Apple Shortcuts guide.

Sorry for the confusion - I’m aware you’re not the app developer; my question was actually directed at @Wagges . I’m also a big fan of you focusing on the current web version instead of building an app, since it’s the most “standalone” option and therefor likely to work 'forever', even when you once stop working on it - whereas an app might eventually stop working if it’s no longer maintained.
