From here on Kip can update itself: the in-app "a newer Kip is available" banner gets an Update button (Windows installer + AppImage). The portable tar.gz updates by hand.

Windows SmartScreen: the binary is signed but the certificate is self-issued, so SmartScreen still shows unknown publisher — More info → Run anyway.
Linux/Wayland: ./kip --ozone-platform-hint=auto.

• Fix: blank buttons in the Reminders / LLM / Skills panels — the shared
  ui/button helper dropped the label when called with options first, so
  text-only buttons ("Add", "Test", "Test search", …) rendered empty.
• Fix: People panel always empty — the frontmatter parser shadowed
  clojure.core/rest with a loop binding, so every person page failed to parse
  and the panel showed "No people yet" even with people in the nest.
