Web search

Mike can now search the web when a question needs a current, public source: the latest statutory rate, a regulator's published guidance, a recent announcement. It searches, reads the pages it chooses, and cites them the same way it cites your documents and case law.

  • Sources appear as numbered citations in the answer and in the Sources card, each linking to the page it came from, with the quoted passage when Mike read the page.
  • Every search and page read is shown as a step in the answer, so you can see what was looked up.
  • Sources are ranked by authority for your jurisdiction (set in your profile): for Singapore, government and court sites come first.
  • Your documents never leave the machine. Only the search question is sent out, and Mike is instructed never to put client names or document contents into a search.
  • Settings → Features shows whether web search is active on this installation.

Web search is switched on for this installation as part of the update; no action is needed.

Also in this release

  • Outbound web requests share one hardened guard (HTTPS only, no private-network addresses, no credentials forwarded).
