v1.3.1 — Update reliability
Update reliability
- In-app updates now work when the updater image is private: the installer gives the updater its own copy of the firm's deploy credential, and Mike's launcher adds it to existing installations automatically.
- Each update is performed by the updater that ships with the new version, so settings a release introduces (such as the web search key) are applied on that same update.
Web search (introduced in v1.3.0) is switched on for this installation as part of the update if it was not already.

v1.3.0 — Web search
Web search
Mike can now search the web when a question needs a current, public source: the latest statutory rate, a regulator's published guidance, a recent announcement. It searches, reads the pages it chooses, and cites them the same way it cites your documents and case law.
- Sources appear as numbered citations in the answer and in the Sources card, each linking to the page it came from, with the quoted passage when Mike read the page.
- Every search and page read is shown as a step in the answer, so you can see what was looked up.
- Sources are ranked by authority for your jurisdiction (set in your profile): for Singapore, government and court sites come first.
- Your documents never leave the machine. Only the search question is sent out, and Mike is instructed never to put client names or document contents into a search.
- Settings → Features shows whether web search is active on this installation.
Web search is switched on for this installation as part of the update; no action is needed.
Also in this release
- Outbound web requests share one hardened guard (HTTPS only, no private-network addresses, no credentials forwarded).
