Buying, Help and Feedback

Where to buy

PolyPalette is sold through Gumroad:

https://jevzza.gumroad.com/l/PolyPalette

The Purchase button on the About tab goes there too.

Which licence you need

Two tiers, both on the store page, and both give you the same software. They differ in who can buy them and how many machines they cover.

Tier Who it's for
Indie Individual artists, and studios with annual revenue below £100,000. One activation, valid on one machine.
Studio Commercial teams with annual revenue of £100,000 or above. Bought per seat, and each seat is valid on one machine.

Free trial

There's a trial you can take first, on either tier. You don't need 3ds Max or Blender connected to start it.

The trial clock starts when you install, not when you first open it, so install it when you're ready to sit down with it.

Press Start Trial on the About tab.

Maintenance

Your licence is perpetual. The version you own keeps working forever, exactly as it does today.

What's time-limited is your update window, which covers new versions and support for new releases of 3ds Max and Blender. When it closes you simply stop getting new versions.

  • Purchase Maintenance, on the About tab, buys a renewal. It extends the window from the date you renew.
  • Renewing is optional and never automatic.
  • Paste a renewal key into the Maintenance Key box in the Maintenance section of the About tab, then press Activate.

Current terms and what a renewal costs are on the store page.

Getting help

Support's on Discord, on the bugs channel. The Discord button on the About tab takes you there.

The GitHub button goes to the repository, where the releases and this wiki live.

What to send when you report a bug

If a report card appeared, press Copy on it and paste the lot.

Say what you did, in the order you did it, and what you expected instead.

Always say which version. It's at the bottom right of the window, and on the About tab.

Common problems that aren't bugs

Problem Answer
PolyPalette isn't talking to 3ds Max or Blender Nearly always because it was started before the plugin was installed. Close it and start it again from the Connection tab. See Installing PolyPalette.
The tool tabs are missing See the About tab.
An update won't install Check Maintenance on the About tab.
