Tool: Export Track Models

Entry: Tools → Export Track Models (Action create_track_gen.export) Source: src/build/export.ts

What it does

Exports the groups under the current workspace's track parent group (created by "Generate Create Tracks", named after the workspace) in the selected mode to a user-chosen folder, along with the matching blockstates and texture PNGs. Layout: two columns — left = export config, right = one texture resource path per texture.

Left column: export config

Element Purpose
Export Mode (dropdown) One of four modes: 1.21.11+ New Java (format_version, multi-axis {x,y,z}) / 1.21.11- Classic Java (no format_version, single-axis {angle, axis}) / Bedrock Block Model (one minecraft:geometry + blocks.json per shape) / Export Everything as OBJ (all cubes/meshes baked into one merged mesh, Forge-readable). Unexportable shapes fall back to OBJ (classic: multi-axis rotation / mesh groups; Bedrock: multiple textures / mesh groups). Locked to OBJ when the workspace is a free/generic model — its origin-centered geometry can't be expressed with Java / Bedrock block formats
Namespace Resource pack namespace (model / blockstates path prefix), e.g. kuayue, create, mymod; lowercase letters / digits / underscores
Track ID Model folder name + blockstates file name (e.g. standard / track / meter); defaults to the workspace name
Export Root Directory (text box + Browse…) The folder containing assets/{namespace}; all files are written here under models/ textures/ blockstates/. First access requests "folder access" permission
Model Resource Path (text box + Reset) Resource path for referencing models from blockstates ({namespace}:path/file); default block/track/{track id}. Models are written to root/models/{path}/. "Reset" restores the default

Right column: texture resource paths

Element Purpose
Texture resource path Resource path for referencing that texture from models ({namespace}:path/file); default block/track/{track id}. Textures are written to root/textures/{path}/. Each texture is set independently

Note: these resource paths are the paths written inside the model / blockstate files (e.g. kuayue:block/track/standard/…), not the on-disk directory — that is decided by the export root. They may only contain lowercase letters, digits and / _ . -, without leading/trailing / or ...

Bottom buttons

Button Purpose
Export Validates and exports. An empty/invalid namespace / track id / resource path pops an error and keeps the dialog open
Cancel Abandons the export

Output structure

  • Java / OBJ modes: models/{model resource path}/{shape}.json (or .obj / .mtl / forge:obj reference JSON) + blockstates/{trackId}_track.json + textures/ PNGs.
  • Bedrock mode: minecraft:geometry under models/blocks/{trackId}/ + root blocks.json + textures/blocks/{trackId}/; multi-texture / mesh shapes fall back to OBJ.
  • A widened summary dialog (640px) then shows the mode, files written, resource paths, eligibility conditions, and each warning/notice in its own box.

Prerequisites

  • The current workspace must have a track parent group (named after the workspace). If "Track Group Not Found" appears, run "Tools → Generate Create Tracks" first and export again.
