A list of the various items that Freedom Planet 2 adds to a multiworld.

Key Items

Star Card

Generic collectible that function like Emblems in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and Power Stars in Super Mario 64. 48 Star Cards are present in the item pool, with 32 required for completion. Stages and shop options are also gated by Star Card requirements, with stages in Globe Opera, Justice in the Sky Paradise, Robot Wars and Echoes of the Dragon Wars requring 11 Star Cards, while the Bakunawa stages require 23 (except for Weapon's Core, which requires all 32). In Milla's shop, each item slot requires a Star Card, while the Vinyl shop requires a Star Card per every two slots.

Battlesphere Key

Extra Slots

The two items listed here required the Extra Items option in the player YAML to be enabled (see here).

Extra Item Slot

Allows an extra Brave Stone to be equipped. Two copies of this item exist, allowing the player to equip up to Four Brave Stones.

Extra Potion Slot

Allows a few extra Potions to be equipped. Two copies of this item exist, allowing the player to equip a maximum of Ten Potions.

Potions

The potions that are avaliable from Milla's shop in the base game are present in the item pool. The 8 potions are:

  • Potion - Extra Stock
  • Potion - Strong Revivals
  • Potion - Cheaper Stocks
  • Potion - Healing Strike
  • Potion - Attack Up
  • Potion - Strong Shields
  • Potion - Accelerator
  • Potion - Super Feather*

*The Super Feather potion is classed as a Progression item instead of a Useful item, as some chests and item boxes require it when playing as certain characters. If using Universal Tracker these locations will be marked as "Glitched" if this potion is missing, as they are still mostly accessible.

Brave Stones

The various Brave Stones that can be acquired from stages and shops in the base game are also present in the item pool. The 23 Brave Stones are:

  • Element Burst
  • Max Life Up
  • Crystals to Petals
  • Powerup Start
  • Shadow Guard
  • Payback Ring
  • Wood Charm
  • Earth Charm

  • Fire Charm
  • Metal Charm
  • No Stocks*

  • No Guarding*
  • No Petals*
  • Time Limit*
  • Items To Bombs*
  • Life Oscillation*
  • One Hit KO*
  • Petal Armor
  • Rainbow Charm

*These Brave Stones are classed as Trap items, allowing the filler_traps option to create duplicates of them in the item pool. In addition, enabling the trap_stones option will cause any of these Brave Stones to be automatically activated if received while in a stage.

Chest Tracers

If the chest_tracer_items option is not set to disabled, then items for the Chest Tracer system will be added to the item pool. There can either be a single Chest Tracer item if the option is set to global, or one for every stage (barring a few boss only stages that don't contain any chests).

Traps

Trap items that are added to the pool if the filler_traps option is set, replacing any of the filler items listed below.

Swap Trap

Swaps the player character for the remainder of a stage. This trap can only swap the player character to ones that exist in the base game, as modded characters can behave in unpredictable ways and thus cause errors.

Spike Ball Trap

Spawns eight Macer spike balls from the edges of the screen (four on each side) with velocity that flings them in the direction of the player.

Pixellation Trap

Drops the game's internal resolution to 25%, resulting in a heavy pixellation for 30 seconds.

Rail Trap

Turns every solid surface in the stage into a grind rail.

Spam Trap

Spawns a box with a humorous message in it that changes location on the screen, colour and contents a few times.

Syntax Jumpscare Trap
