YAML
A list of the various options present within Freedom Planet 2's options YAML (barring the default Archipelago options).
Options:
-
individual
-
progressive (default)
-
open
Determines how chapter unlocks are handled. If set to individual, then each of the game's eight chapters will be split into seperate items, whereas progressive will add eight Progressive Chapter items into the pool that unlocks them in a set order. Open instead replaces the chapter unlocks with individual stage unlocks, while also removing their Star Card requirements.
Note: For information on the items, see here.
Whether or not extra Star Cards can be added to the item pool as Filler Items (although they still appear as Progression Items in the text client).
Whether or not extra Time Capsules can be added to the item pool as Filler Items (although they still appear as Progression Items in the text client).
Determines whether or not the 82 Chest Locations are added to the location pool.
An example of the Chest Tracer in Shenlin Park.
Determines whether or not Chest Tracer arrows should be enabled, pointing to each chest in a stage (pressing Select (after unbinding it from the pause function) or F9 will show or hide the arrows).
Options:
-
disabled
-
perstage (default)
-
global
Determines whether the Chest Tracers should be locked behind items. If set to disabled, then the arrows are always visible. If set the perstage, then each stage will have its own Chest Tracer item that must be acquired to make the arrows appear. If set to global, then only a single Chest Tracer item will be added, which will make all stage's arrows appear upon acquisition.
If either the perstage or global option is selected, then the generation logic will expect the stage's Chest Tracer to be acquired before expecting any chests in it to be opened.
Note: The
disabledoption currently seems to be broken and stops the world from successfully generating?
Note: This option does nothing if Chest Tracers aren't enabled.
An example of the Strict Chest Tracer in Dragon Valley.
If this option is enabled, then all the chests within a stage will be completely locked until its approriate Chest Tracer is acquired, preventing out of logic chest checks.
Note: This option does nothing if Chest Tracers and one of the two item options aren't enabled.
Determines whether or not Milla's shop can be accessed from the map. This adds extra locations (the amount being set in milla_shop_amount) to the multiworld, with Star Card costs up to 30.
How many locations Milla's Shop will add to the multiworld. Defaults to 30.
Controls how many Gold Gems each item in Milla's shop costs. Defaults to 1.
Determines whether or not the Vinyl shop can be accessed from the map. This adds extra locations (the amount being set in vinyl_shop_amount) to the multiworld, with Star Card costs up to 30.
How many locations the Vinyl Shop will add to the multiworld. Defaults to 60.
Controls how many Crystal Shards each item in the Vinyl shop costs. Defaults to 100.
Enables the 72 Enemy Sanity locations. This option makes it so that killing an enemy type for the first time will send out a location check.
Enables the 44 Boss Sanity locations. This option makes it so that killing a boss type for the first time will send out a location check.
Enables the Item Box Sanity locations.
Note: This option does nothing if at least one of the following four options are not enabled.
Note: In its current state, Item Box Sanity's logic is slightly questionable and may produce unreasonable results.
Enables the Crystal Shard Boxes for Item Box Sanity.
Enables the Life Petal Boxes for Item Box Sanity.
Enables the Shield Boxes for Item Box Sanity.
Enables the Gold Gem Boxes for Item Box Sanity.
Add two Extra Item Slot and two Extra Potion Slot items into the item pool, which expand their respective category's equip count (see here and here).
Causes the Brave Stones that are flagged as traps to be automatically activated if received while in a stage, making them more dangerous to receive depending on the circumstance. If this option is disabled then the Brave Stones will only appear once in the multiworld, whereas having it enabled will allow the generator to place them multiple times like any other trap.
Causes the Time Limit Brave Stone to kill the player should the timer run out, making the Time Limit more dangerous.
Options for each individual trap to vaguely try and weight how likely they are to appear (simply by adding extra enteries for them into the item table before generation).
Skips the actual stage part of Weapon's Core, placing the player straight into the Bakunawa Fusion boss arena.
Options:
-
disable (default)
-
enable
-
enable_survive
The default Archipelago DeathLink option. If enabled, then the player will be killed if anyone else with DeathLink on in the multiworld dies. How the player dies depends on which option is set.
If set to enable, then the player will be blown up as if they were crushed, forcibly sending them back to the previous checkpoint. If set to enable_survive, then the player will instead be given a standard knock-out, allowing them to revive on the spot with minimal health for the cost of a life.
Determines whether RingLink should be used. If enabled, then any Crystal Shards obtained in a stage will also be given to other RingLink players. Buying an item from the Vinyl shop will also deduct the cost from other RingLink players as well.
If a ring loss comes in, then the player will take a point of damage.
Determines whether TrapLink should be used. If enabled, then traps received will be linked to other TrapLink players.
For a list of the supported traps, what they map to and how other games handle them (if they do), check the official TrapLink spreadsheet.
Determines whether DamageLink should be used. If enabled, then damage will shared between Freedom Planet 2 and other games, with 10 DamageLink points equating to one life petal on the player HUD.
For a list of other games that use TrapLink and how they handle damage, check the official DamageLink spreadsheet
