KPatcher is a desktop app and command-line tool for installing TSLPatcher-style Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic mods on modern systems.
This wiki is written for players and other non-technical users. It explains what KPatcher does, how to use it, and what it does not promise.
- If you want the shortest path: read Installing a Mod.
- If you want to understand the app first: read How KPatcher Works.
- If you want the limits up front: read What KPatcher Can and Cannot Do.
- If something already went wrong: read Troubleshooting.
- If you plan to use the command line: read Advanced CLI and Validation.
- A mod that was built for TSLPatcher-style installation.
- A working KOTOR or KOTOR II game folder.
- Permission to change files in that game folder.
- A little patience: some mods show their own instructions and confirmation messages before installation starts.
- Open KPatcher.
- Choose the mod you want to install.
- Choose your KOTOR game folder.
- Read the instructions shown in the main panel.
- Click Start Patching.
- Accept the confirmation prompts if the mod asks for them.
- Review the final success, warning, or error message.
- KPatcher is focused on compatibility with older TSLPatcher-style mod installs.
- It is not a full mod manager for every kind of KOTOR mod.
- Some builds may be marked as alpha. If so, the app itself shows a warning banner.
- The app can help validate a mod or uninstall from backup, but those are advanced tasks and may not help in every case.
