Releases: Kuschel-code/jellyfin-transcode-replace
Release list
v0.1.0
v0.0.8
Fixes three bugs found in a full code review. Critical: after a dry-run pass, turning dry-run off never processed anything because the queue's duplicate check blocked every re-enqueue; skip verdicts are now retryable (except the expensive not-smaller verdict), so config changes and going live work as expected. Also fixes truncated ffmpeg output in the async process runner (could spuriously fail the VMAF gate) and the disk-space check inspecting the root filesystem instead of the media mount on Linux.
v0.0.7
Reworked settings page. Cards are reordered into a natural flow with the master dry-run switch on top and the dangerous replace policy at the bottom above Save. Controls that don't apply right now (specific encoder, VMAF threshold, backup retention, the hard-replace warning) are hidden until they're relevant. Quality guidance now adapts to the chosen codec instead of a one-size HEVC hint. The settings that had no UI are now exposed: include/exclude path globs and a library multi-select, plus a Skipped counter and clickable detected-encoder chips. Library scoping is now actually enforced (and fails closed). Also fixes a stuck loading spinner on save errors and an empty-number-field footgun. 77 tests.
v0.0.6
Review hardening from a full re-review. The VMAF quality gate now fails closed when the score can't be computed (libvmaf missing, ffmpeg error, resolution mismatch) instead of replacing the original anyway. The worker skips a source that already probes as the target codec, which self-corrects a job re-queued after a crash mid-replace. Fixed a 10-bit pixel-format false positive (yuv410p is 8-bit, not 10-bit). Added logging for a corrupt job queue and for permission (chmod/chown) failures, which matters on TrueNAS/SMB. Sealed the API controller. Also adds docs/COMPARISON.md comparing this plugin to Tdarr, Unmanic, FileFlows and HandBrake.
v0.0.5
Restores the config page's pageshow handler so settings reliably load and save again (the dangling data-controller was the root cause; pageshow is the event the official Jellyfin template uses). Includes the 0.0.4 features: VP9 (libvpx-vp9, vp9_qsv, vp9_vaapi), Opus audio, a WebM container option, the detected-encoder list, a live processing/dry-run status and the dashboard sidebar entry.
v0.0.4
Adds VP9 (libvpx-vp9, vp9_qsv, vp9_vaapi), Opus audio (transcode or add a compatibility track) and a WebM container option. Fixes the configuration page so settings load and save again, shows the detected encoders and a live processing/dry-run status, and adds the plugin to the dashboard sidebar.
