Download and Upload Project
A project (see Creating a New Project) in OWLGrEd can be exported to a .json file (Download Project icon in the Diagrams view).
After pressing the icon the project file is prepared in the browser and offered to be saved into your local file system. Please be patient with the download of larger project files. The information to be exported with a project involves the project diagram structure, as well as the projects' parameters. The project export can be used for backup purposes, as well as for transferring the project from one OWLGrEd environment to another one.
An exported project file can be imported into OWLGrEd in the following two steps:
- Create a new project or use the existing one, and
- In the Diagrams view of the project activate the Upload Project icon
Upon pressing the icon a choice of uploading the project from a File shall appear. To upload a .json file from your local file system, activate File and then choose the desired file from the system dialogue. After importing the project file, the diagrams from the imported project shall be added to the list of the diagrams of the created project. N.B. If the OWLGrEd configuration on the server is different from the configuration of the server where the diagram has been exported from, the common elements from both configurations shall be aligned. In the rare case, if there are elements in the configuration used to create the diagram that do no longer exist in the server configuration, these elements may be lost (similar principles apply also in migrating the projects from one configuration to another).
