BlackICE Panel v1.5.0-experimental.2
This second experimental preview makes Bundle Tools easier to use for teams developing locally and testing their changes on a server. Projects now have a compact overview and a dedicated details workspace. Remote branches can be compared and merged through the configured Git provider, while package updates are proposed through review requests without changing the active checkout.
The bundle list and settings have also been reorganized, with clearer controls, searchable selections and more granular permissions. Bundle Tools remain optional and disabled by default.
Projects and Git workflows
- Replace the development-to-production screen with Merge branches: select source and target from searchable remote-branch dropdowns and inspect commits and changed files before proceeding.
- Add global review-request/direct-merge policies with per-project overrides. Review requests remain the default; direct merges require a separate permission and confirmation.
- Recheck branch commit identities before merging, respect provider protections and report unconfirmed results without automatically repeating writes. Deployment remains a separate action.
- Add account-based repository discovery and searchable owner/repository selections, including supported organizations and groups.
- Move NuGet management into a dedicated dialog showing installed and latest common versions, with optional specific-version and prerelease selection.
- Propose package changes in an isolated checkout, push a change branch and create a review request; leave active sources and installed bundles unchanged.
- Add framework-specific state choices and working examples: Zustand/Jotai/Nano Stores for React, Pinia/Nano Stores for Vue, and local/shared runes or Nano Stores for Svelte.
Bundle management
- Add searchable bundle lists and persistent category tags with category filtering.
- Add reversible autostart control for supported static startup configurations, including included files, backups and reconciliation before managed startup.
- Add scoped bundle deletion with a confirmed stop and separate permissions for deleting sources or eligible local persistent data. Data is preserved by default.
- Recheck ZIP target names before installation and show an explicit overwrite-or-cancel dialog for existing bundles.
Interface and localization
- Split Bundle Tools settings into General, Build tools and Git accounts subtabs.
- Refine project rows, consistent branch/commit/Web-UI badges and inline last-build timestamps and status.
- Reorganize creation/import dialogs into compact two-column layouts; keep repository fields visible but disabled when unused.
- Improve build-job output with search, follow, pause/resume and download controls.
- Refine the bundle filter toolbar with a search icon, consistent control heights, interior spacing and responsive timestamp placement.
- Shorten and reposition the experimental indicator, improve account-label spacing and rename the account edit action appropriately.
- Clarify English/German merge, package and status terminology; fix the malformed dash in last-build text and add automated locale/reference/encoding checks.
Tool detection and security
- Detect installed host Git, .NET SDK 10, Node.js/npm and existing WASI SDK caches alongside optional panel-managed tool copies.
- Add separate server-side permissions for review requests, direct merges, package proposals, categories, autostart and deletion scopes; group permissions in user administration.
- Bind saved provider credentials to their configured destination and prevent authenticated redirects.
- Harden outbound HTTP destination checks for provider, installer and update requests with public-address validation and DNS-pinned connections.
- Strengthen bundle/source path and symlink checks and expand regression coverage for denied HTTP actions and bundle lifecycle operations.
- Update English/German documentation for shared server accounts, development workflows and the limits of build permissions.
Upgrade and experimental limitations
Choose the experimental update channel to receive this preview. Existing configuration and server data are retained. Windows and Linux native packages, a versioned Docker image/export and SHA-256 checksums are provided by the release pipeline after its checks pass.
Build permission allows project code to execute with the panel OS account's rights; it is not a sandbox. Console write access is similarly powerful. Use trusted sources and dedicated repository-scoped provider tokens, isolate development from production and read SECURITY.md. This release does not claim an independent security audit. Provider merge protection may leave an open review request when a direct merge is refused; inspect the returned link before retrying.
v1.5.0-experimental.1
This experimental preview introduces Bundle Tools: upload compiled bundles or manage trusted source projects and build them through the dashboard. The feature is disabled by default and is intended for deliberate development workflows.
Changes
- Add ZIP structure validation, controlled bundle replacement, backups and rollback.
- Add panel-managed Git, .NET SDK and Node.js tool downloads with integrity checks.
- Generate C# bundle projects with optional Svelte, Vue or React ReUi templates and selectable web packages.
- Import repositories, pull changes, switch branches/tags and inspect or change replay.blackice.* NuGet versions.
- Add encrypted provider accounts and remote-repository creation for GitHub, GitLab and Gitea-compatible hosts.
- Keep source trees under panel_src/ to avoid nested manifests in the game-server bundle directory.
- Add build/job logs, setup/settings switches and bundle upload/build permissions.
- Support Docker Git workflows and cross-volume bundle swaps with end-to-end CI coverage.
Notes
Experimental: building a repository executes project code with the panel OS user's rights. Use trusted sources and review the security documentation.
v1.4.0
Operators can now choose between stable releases and experimental previews in the dashboard updater. Existing installations remain on the stable channel unless the setting is changed.
Changes
- Add persisted stable/experimental update-channel selection to setup and settings.
- Include compatible prereleases when the experimental channel is selected.
- Handle version ordering and release matching for preview versions.
- Adapt GitHub release publishing and add update-channel regression coverage.
- Document channel behavior in English and German.
v1.3.1
A focused presentation fix aligns user status with the account name, making the user list easier to scan.
Changes
- Center the user-status badge alongside the user name.
- Update the packaged version to 1.3.1.
v1.3.0
This release strengthens first-run access and makes external update checks an explicit operator preference. It also improves bundle information, user management and release verification guidance.
Changes
- Use an eight-character setup key, local-only browser display and key rotation after repeated invalid attempts.
- Adjust setup rate limits so installation-progress polling remains usable.
- Add a setting to disable automatic external panel/server update checks.
- Add GitHub build provenance attestations and document checksum/signature limitations.
- Add a protected super-administrator distinction and richer bundle metadata.
- Add full startup-log downloads and reliable Markdown issue templates.
- Document Docker socket authority and trusted-server-binary requirements.
BlackICE Server Panel 1.2.2
Moved server installations can now be recovered from General settings. A missing server directory is shown across the dashboard with a direct route to repair it, while existing configuration and accounts are retained.
Changes
- Validate and save an absolute native server directory while the server is stopped.
- Detect missing directories/executables in shared status and replace unavailable header actions with a recovery link.
- Rebind process, bundle and bridge adapters without restarting the Webhost.
- Block relocation during prepared or active server updates and retain process-ownership checks.
- Allow initial runtime seeding into a Docker server mount; Docker relocation remains a deployment-mount change.
- Add contribution/issue templates and moved-directory/permission integration coverage.
v1.2.1
The dashboard receives a visual and interaction polish pass, especially around setup, login, server configuration and logs. Updated screenshots and download guidance make the public installation path clearer.
Changes
- Add an animated hexagonal background and refine spacing, controls and page layouts.
- Improve setup validation and login feedback.
- Refine server configuration, log archives, diagnostic views and user presentation.
- Add current dashboard screenshots to both READMEs.
- Document unsigned Windows download prompts and release-package handling.
v1.2.0
Settings and logs are easier to navigate, and common server configuration changes can be made inside the dashboard. Setup also gains a native folder picker and automatic target-folder creation.
Changes
- Organize settings into tabs and show panel/server versions with update indicators.
- Add a validated server.cfg editor with an ISO-region selector and additional server options.
- Add log archives with ZIP download, console follow/pause and toast feedback.
- Improve user rows and allow typing into the region selector.
- Add a native folder picker and setup-terminal key display.
- Set the minimum administrator password length to eight characters.
Notes
This historical version used a six-character setup key. Later 1.3.0 hardening increases it to eight characters and restricts browser display to local access.
BlackICE Server Panel 1.1.0
An optional LAN bridge adds structured server diagnostics alongside the existing terminal control. This release also introduces verified REServer artifact updates and local diagnostic history.
Changes
- Add authenticated bridge handshakes, process identity checks and correlated console replies in the .NET Supervisor.
- Show server phase, build, tick progression and connection health; retain PTY fallback.
- Add cursor-based source/module log filtering, pause/follow and filtered export with bounded local retention.
- Check, prepare and apply official REServer alpha artifacts using SHA-256 verification, backup and startup-failure rollback.
- Allow selection of the current official alpha or an available local runtime backup.
- Include MIT credits for blackice-mcp, AI-assisted project origin and private security reporting.
- Add bridge, retention, permission and update tests plus isolated native/Docker installation checks.
Notes
The upstream --mcp option currently forces sv_lan 1. Public sv_lan 0 servers should keep the default PTY path.
v1.0.0
The first 1.0 release finalizes the BlackICE Server Panel name and public installation entry point. It brings the existing server controls, account permissions, bundle operations and dashboard updater together with concise platform guides.
Changes
- Rename public branding and repository references to BlackICE Server Panel.
- Finalize English/German README installation guides for Windows, Linux and Docker.
- Align example Docker paths, image references and deployment settings.
- Update launcher labels, release packaging references and documented update workflow.
