Codevator 0.2.2

Choose a tag to compare

@LaughingVzr LaughingVzr released this 26 Oct 04:11

Codevator 0.2.2 reduces unnecessary work while keeping terminal sessions responsive.

  • Codex terminal output now combines corrective full-screen redraws and skips them when the window is hidden. The terminal refreshes when it becomes visible again.
  • Task-completion notifications now react to changes in the completion marker instead of checking it every half-second for each AI tab.
  • Closing a terminal session now includes a fallback that reaps its child process, preventing defunct processes from being left behind.

Download the universal macOS DMG below, open it, and drag Codevator to Applications. It supports macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. The app is ad-hoc signed but not notarized, so macOS may ask you to allow it in Privacy & Security before opening.

SHA-256: e273d9d50de3bd8865765d3b22bcec8cdb0422e6ce8b44c9536ddd931f028772

Validation: 38 unit tests and 4 macOS UI tests passed. One Claude-dependent test in each suite was skipped because Claude CLI was unavailable. The universal build, app signature, DMG checksum, and local installation were verified. Actual battery-life improvement has not been measured.

@LaughingVzr LaughingVzr released this 20 Oct 13:03

Codevator 0.2.1 makes worktree creation and tab switching easier.

  • Create worktrees directly from remote branches. The branch list refreshes from configured remotes when the dialog opens, and you can refresh it again manually. Codevator creates a local branch that tracks the selected remote branch.
  • Click anywhere on a terminal tab, including its tool icon, to switch to it. The close button remains separate.
  • Updated the English and Chinese READMEs to explain remote branch selection.

Validation: 36 unit tests and 4 macOS UI tests passed. One Claude-dependent test in each suite was skipped because Claude CLI was unavailable. The DMG checksum, app signature, and local installation were verified. Intel hardware and macOS 14 were not tested directly.

Codevator 0.2.0

@LaughingVzr LaughingVzr released this 19 Oct 11:53

Codevator 0.2.0 brings a Liquid Glass workspace on macOS 26. The terminal stays dark for readable conversations, and the appearance remains compatible with earlier supported macOS versions.

What's new

  • The sidebar, toolbar, tabs, and settings have been refined for Liquid Glass in the light appearance.
  • In Codex, Claude Code, and regular terminal tabs, ⌘← and ⌘→ move to the start and end of the input line.
  • The app now uses an ad-hoc signature, and notification permission errors are shown in Settings.
  • The English and Chinese READMEs include a new Liquid Glass screenshot and clearer descriptions of session indicators and completion alerts.

Install

Download the macOS disk image below, open it, and drag Codevator to Applications. The app supports macOS 14 or later and includes both Apple Silicon and Intel builds. It is ad-hoc signed but not notarized, so macOS may ask you to review it before opening. Git is required. Install Codex or Claude Code separately if you want to use those tools; the regular terminal needs neither.

SHA-256: 297c40fdd6e7258a2b8d4c84d78ae7754a4f50ae4d1d01d1e68a0aa0d32807f3

Validation: 35 unit tests and 4 macOS UI tests passed. One Claude Code test in each suite was skipped because the Claude CLI was unavailable on the test Mac. Intel hardware and macOS 14 were not tested directly.

Codevator 0.1.5

Choose a tag to compare

@LaughingVzr LaughingVzr released this 19 Oct 03:11

Codevator 0.1.5 makes terminal editing and completed AI replies easier to follow.

  • Worktrees show a terminal icon whenever they still have an open Codex, Claude Code, or regular terminal tab.
  • Selecting and copying text in Codex's input works when Codex enables mouse tracking. Command-Delete clears the current input line, and stale input text is cleared after switching windows.
  • Codex and Claude Code now play a completion sound even when you are viewing the conversation. You can turn it off in Settings → Notifications. Background alerts and unread indicators remain available.

Requirements: macOS 14 or later and Git. Install Codex or Claude Code separately if you want to use either tool; the regular terminal needs neither.

Download: Codevator-0.1.5-macOS.dmg contains a universal app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Open the disk image and drag Codevator to Applications. The app is unsigned and not notarized; macOS may ask you to review it before opening.

SHA-256: c819ffd370ad8937dd5a9f9cf4de2b12609f21bea85dfe1f9e10330ed131e454

Validation: 35 unit tests ran with no failures (one skipped). The completion-status and Codex copy/paste macOS UI tests passed. The DMG passed checksum verification and contains both arm64 and x86_64. Intel hardware and macOS 14 have not yet been tested directly.

Codevator 0.1.4

Choose a tag to compare

@LaughingVzr LaughingVzr released this 14 Oct 12:10

This update makes conversation status more dependable while you move between projects and worktrees.

  • The green running indicator now appears when an AI request is actually waiting for a reply. Opening Codex, submitting an empty line, or changing /permission settings no longer leaves a worktree marked as running.
  • A completed reply clears the running indicator and keeps the existing unread notification behavior.
  • Codex terminal output now receives a final full redraw after fast updates, reducing stray white blocks in text-heavy conversations.

Requirements: macOS 14 or later and Git. Install Codex or Claude Code separately if you want to use either tool; the regular terminal needs neither.

Download: Codevator-0.1.4-macOS.dmg contains a universal app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Open the disk image and drag Codevator to Applications. The app is unsigned and not notarized; macOS may ask you to review it before opening.

SHA-256: 7d41c2567e0cf12d1d8702ac043c1a11bc1a0c4f0c30cf835eef1270c3ab7227

Validation: 32 unit tests and 5 macOS UI tests ran on an Apple silicon Mac, with no failures. One unit test and one UI test for Claude Code were skipped because the local Claude CLI was unavailable. The DMG passed checksum verification and contains both arm64 and x86_64. Intel hardware and macOS 14 have not yet been tested directly.

Codevator 0.1.3

@LaughingVzr LaughingVzr released this 14 Oct 07:25

Codevator 0.1.3

This update makes it easier to see where your coding conversations need attention, and adds a regular terminal alongside Codex and Claude Code.

  • A green indicator beside a worktree or project shows conversations waiting for a reply. An orange indicator shows replies that finished while you were elsewhere and have not been viewed yet. Both can appear at the same time when a worktree has several tabs.
  • Open a Terminal tab in any worktree to use your Mac's shell without starting an AI tool. Regular terminal commands do not trigger AI reply indicators or notifications.
  • Change terminal text size in Settings → Terminal, or use ⌘+, ⌘−, and ⌘0. Open tabs update immediately.
  • The English and Chinese READMEs now explain the current workflows and link to the Releases page instead of a fixed download version.

Requirements: macOS 14 or later and Git. Install Codex or Claude Code separately if you want to use either tool; the regular terminal needs neither.

Download: Codevator-0.1.3-macOS.dmg contains a universal app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Open the disk image and drag Codevator to Applications. The app is unsigned and not notarized; macOS may ask you to review it before opening.

SHA-256: 67bab60342ada8246b78c2384887d2aa83afff52f6afb7d5f2d3d31fadb3f4bc

Validation: 31 unit tests and 5 macOS UI tests ran on an Apple silicon Mac, with no failures. One unit test and one UI test for Claude Code were skipped because the local Claude CLI was unavailable. The DMG passed checksum verification; its app contains both arm64 and x86_64 and matches the built release executable. Intel hardware and macOS 14 have not yet been tested directly.

Codevator 0.1.2

@LaughingVzr LaughingVzr released this 13 Oct 12:38

Codevator 0.1.2

This patch makes completion alerts more reliable when you leave a coding conversation running in the background.

  • Codex's internal title-generation event no longer marks a tab as finished before the actual reply is ready.
  • When a Codex or Claude reply finishes in a background tab, Codevator marks it unread and sends a macOS notification with the default sound.
  • The new Settings → Notifications page shows whether alerts and sounds are allowed, lets you request permission, and links to macOS notification settings.

Requirements: macOS 14 or later and Git. Install Codex or Claude Code separately to use it in Codevator.

Download: Codevator-0.1.2-macOS.dmg contains a universal app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Open the disk image and drag Codevator to Applications. The app is unsigned and not notarized; macOS may require you to review it before opening.

SHA-256: 7d35c8cec461614e4185b0b7f84838933c1b03f50c10ad01a124a9a6dc842b50

Validation: 27 unit tests and 2 macOS UI tests passed on an Apple silicon Mac. One unit test and one UI test for Claude Code were skipped because the local Claude CLI was unavailable. The DMG was verified and its app contains both arm64 and x86_64; it has not been tested on an Intel Mac or on macOS 14.

macOS controls whether notification banners and sounds appear. For example, notifications may be paused while the display is shared, depending on your system settings.

Codevator 0.1.1

Choose a tag to compare

@LaughingVzr LaughingVzr released this 13 Oct 09:30

This preview improves the Codex terminal and makes the project easier to build from source.

  • Selected terminal text now goes to the macOS clipboard as plain text, including Chinese text. Pressing ⌘C without a selection leaves the existing clipboard content intact.
  • Codex output triggers a full terminal repaint to reduce transient white blocks during text updates. Some rendering artifacts may still appear while output is changing.
  • The READMEs now show the app with sample projects and worktrees, and make build, make test, make test-ui, and make dmg replace the Ruby project helper.

Requirements: macOS 14 or later and Git. Install Codex or Claude Code separately to use it in Codevator.

Download: Codevator-0.1.1-macOS.dmg contains a universal app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Open the disk image and drag Codevator to Applications. The app is unsigned and not notarized; macOS may require you to review it before opening.

@LaughingVzr LaughingVzr released this 13 Oct 07:03

Codevator 0.1.0

The first preview release brings local Git projects, worktrees, and coding conversations together in a native Mac app.

  • Browse several projects and their worktrees in one sidebar. Create a worktree from an existing branch or a new branch.
  • Open Codex and Claude Code in separate terminal tabs. Conversations keep running when you switch tabs or worktrees.
  • See when a conversation finishes on its tab and in the sidebar, with optional macOS notifications.

Requirements: macOS 14 or later and Git. Install Codex or Claude Code separately to use it in Codevator.

Download: Codevator-0.1.0-macOS.dmg contains the app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Open the disk image and drag Codevator to Applications. The app is unsigned and not notarized; macOS may require you to review it before opening.
