ZedSuite comes to macOS, the power estimate moves into the editor, and the DTCs of the compact EDC15 software (012K and friends) can be switched. Plus the fixes from the reports on 1.1.6.
New: macOS
- ZedSuite runs on macOS 12 and later, Apple Silicon and Intel, from one universal app. Download the disk image, drag the app to Applications. There is no Apple developer account behind it, so the first launch goes through System Settings > Privacy & Security > "Open Anyway" once; the Terminal one-liner in the README installs without that step.
- Updates work like on Windows: the app downloads the new version, swaps itself in Applications and relaunches. Projects live in ~/Library/Application Support/com.zedperf.zedsuite.
- Native title bar with the traffic lights, the rest of the interface is the same as on Windows.
New: power estimate in the editor
- A Power button next to Solutions and DTC opens the estimate as a floating window in the workspace, with the same rules as a map window (drag, resize, focus). It reads the live state of the version you are editing: unsaved changes included, a Refresh button recomputes on demand, and saving recomputes as well.
- Curves start at 1900 rpm: below that, the model overestimates what the engine can actually deliver.
- The window can never be narrower than the codeblock summary line, and opens at the height of its content.
- The Compare button moved next to Power in the same block. The compare dialog now says what it does: binary comparison of two versions; comparing the maps of two versions in one window is in development.
New: DTCs on the compact EDC15 software
- The DTC window works on the software that stores its fault table per fault path instead of per code: EDC15VM 038906012K, 012L, 012AA, 012AP, 012CP and EDC15P 019AJ, 019AN. Reported on a 012K.
- On these, a code is switched with the codes sharing its fault path (the same sensor or actuator); the window says so. The 1999 019A software still shows "table layout not supported", with the real ECU family named.
Fixed: detection
- EDC15VM (issue #10): the single SOI map is kept on tuned files (injection quantity axis accepted up to 100 mg), and the MAP/MAF switch is found on every VP37 software, it was missing on some. Before 1.1.6 a few of these maps were false positives; 1.1.6 detected the real ones but not all of them.
- EDC15P VCDS diagnostic maps: plain descriptions, the display scaling maps named for what they are, and the IQ scaling found on the early PD software where it sits at another offset.
Fixed: editor and windows
- The zoom buttons of the 3D preview apply again.
- Editor zoom: 5 % steps, a value can be typed by clicking the percentage, always between 60 and 100 %. The zoom could get stuck at 85 % after a window resize.
- A focused or dragged map window now passes over the preview and power windows.
- The Power and Compare buttons keep the size of the Solutions and DTC buttons.
- The animated background is skipped when WebGL cannot render (virtual machines, remote desktop, hardware acceleration off) instead of taking the page down.
