Install or update the same way: import LoAlCo-ValCraft-0.7.0.zip into your Gale profile, or run the optional ValCraft-Installer-0.7.0.exe (INSTALL.md). Your Minecraft worlds and sign-in are kept. For multiplayer, everyone playing together needs 0.7.0.

What's new in 0.7.0

  • Valheim armor: every Valheim armor set is Minecraft armor (helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots), from Leather to the Deep North sets, plus the Fishing Hat, the Crown of Valheim and the Dverger Circlet. Each looks like its Valheim set when worn, with 3D parts on top (Drake horns, antlers, the bear's head, Protector wings, crests and shoulder plates). Protection, toughness and durability come from Valheim's armor. Find them in the Creative menu's Combat tab, or craft and loot them in Valheim.
  • Valheim creatures vs Minecraft mobs: Valheim's monsters notice Minecraft's monsters and fight them, its animals run from them, and tamed wolves and lox defend you. Hits go both ways, and each side turns on whoever hit it.
  • Fire: Minecraft's fire, lava, fire charges, Fire Aspect and Flame set Valheim's creatures burning with Valheim's flames. Surtlings and other fire creatures are immune. A torch hit sets any mob alight. Fire spreads between Minecraft's wooden builds and Valheim's buildings and trees both ways.
  • Light: a torch in your hand lights the area around you, flickering like Valheim's torch (soul torches are blue), and placed torches light Valheim's world. Lava, magma, glowstone and other bright blocks glow.
  • Boss bars: the Wither, the Ender Dragon, the Warden, the Elder Guardian and raids get Valheim's boss health bar.
  • Weather sync: Minecraft's weather follows Valheim's. Rain or snow makes it rain (so zombies don't burn in the day), and a thunderstorm makes it thunder.
  • Settings menu: every setting is in ValCraft settings now, with a scroll bar and faster scrolling. The Minecraft launcher and Debug settings are under Advanced settings.
  • Fixes: items on the ground stay where they are across F8. Other players see your Viking sitting in a Minecraft boat. Valheim workbench recipes count materials in your Minecraft inventory. The Sealbreaker and Fader's bells are crafted into the Minecraft inventory. Combat balance is closer to Valheim's weapons. Sledges are smaller in first person. Minecraft mobs get unstuck faster on Valheim's ground, and a crash at the end of a mob's path is fixed.

Known issues

  • Multiplayer is still experimental: it hasn't been fully tested with real players yet.
  • Minecraft mobs still sometimes spin for a moment when their path over Valheim's ground breaks.
  • Some armor pieces clip a little, as Minecraft's own armor does. Valheim armor's upgrade levels and set bonuses don't carry over yet.
  • Bows, arrows, shields, staffs, bombs, capes and the cosmetic tunics, dresses and hats don't have ValCraft versions yet; they stay in the Valheim inventory.
  • Valheim's creatures don't bump into Minecraft boats.
  • You can sometimes slip through the floor of a steep crater; Valheim's rescue puts you back on top.
  • Minecraft's portals (Nether and End) don't work.

Files
