This maintenance update makes Gaming Mode more reliable when Steam starts or restarts.
Improvements
- Gaming Mode now waits for Steam Big Picture to become stable before completing a Steam restart.
- The Gaming Mode safety monitor now runs as a single coordinated instance.
- Recovery checks are more resilient during temporary Steam startup transitions.
Fixes
- Fixed a serious issue where Gaming Mode could return to Desktop Mode immediately after Steam Big Picture opened.
- Restarting Steam no longer reapplies the entire Gaming Mode configuration.
- Fixed false recovery events caused by the brief interval between Steam closing and reopening.
- Fixed duplicate safety monitors potentially reacting to the same Steam transition.
- Gaming Mode now keeps the selected default boot mode after a successful Steam restart.
Install or update
Download Playhub-Setup-1.2.1.exe below and run it.
If Playhub is already installed, the installer updates the application while keeping your existing settings.
The installer is currently unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen may display “Windows protected your PC”. Select More info → Run anyway to continue.
