What's new in 1.2.0
Log a whole shopping trip in one pass. Pick the category once, then add a line for each thing you bought. Two items used to mean two trips through a five-field screen; now it is one. The saving grows with the shop.
Every expense has a name. "Groceries ₱4,180" is a number. "Chicken Breast ₱200, Pasta ₱50, Rice ₱340" is something you can argue with. Item names are required, because an expense nobody named is exactly the one you cannot account for a fortnight later.
Quick add on the dashboard. One thing, bought today, in a category you have used before — name it, price it, tap. No screen to open. The category stays selected, so the second one is faster.
Everything logged this cycle, grouped by category. Each group collapses to save space and remembers whether you closed it.
Smaller and less nosy. The download dropped from 90 MB to 58 MB, and the app no longer asks for your camera, microphone or storage.
Receipt scanning is not in this release. On-device OCR reads a receipt's total and the shop's name well enough, but not the individual line items — which is precisely what the new itemised form wants from it. It ships when it can do that job rather than half of it.
Installing
Download the APK and open it. Android will warn that it comes from an unknown source; that is expected for anything not distributed through the Play Store.
If you see "App not installed", that is Play Protect, not a broken download. Google blocks apps from developers it has not verified, and the dialog does not say so — it fails with a generic message and offers no way past it.
To install:
- Open the Play Store → tap your profile picture → Play Protect
- Tap the gear icon → turn off Scan apps with Play Protect
- Install the APK
- Turn Play Protect back on
You may also need to allow "Install unknown apps" for whichever app opens the file — the permission is per-app, so granting it to Chrome does not cover your file manager.
Requires Android 7.0 or newer. Works on arm64, 32-bit ARM and x86_64, so it also installs on an emulator.
Notes
The app is self-signed. Every release is signed with the same key, so updates install over each other without uninstalling first, and your logged expenses survive.
