Hello World

The time has come to build a basic C program for the Miyoo Mini+, and subsequently compile it with the toolchain installation from the Toolchain Setup article.

# Create a project directory under '$HOME/src' and navigate into it:
mkdir --parents "$HOME/src/mmiyoo/helloWorld"
cd "$HOME/src/mmiyoo/helloWorld"

# Write a simple C program:
tee helloWorld.c > /dev/null <<'C'
#include <stdio.h>

int main(void)
{
    puts("Hello from Miyoo Mini+!");
    return 0;
}
C

# Compile it as an ARM binary for the Miyoo Mini+:
arm-linux-gnueabihf-gcc \
    -o helloWorld \
    helloWorld.c

Optional Steps

Verify that the compiled file targets ARM Linux:

file helloWorld

arm-linux-gnueabihf-readelf \
    --file-header \
    helloWorld \
    | grep \
        --extended-regexp \
        'Class:|Machine:'

This should output Class: ELF32 and Machine: ARM.

Note

The resulting helloWorld binary is meant to run only on the Miyoo Mini+.
It will not run inside a normal Ubuntu environment, unless you have compatible ARM emulation available.
