Elevated surfaces (search modal, newsletter dialog) drew near-black on near-black with an invisible shadow. Add --elevated/--elevated-border/ --scrim tokens so dialogs sit lighter than the page with a visible edge.

Elevated surfaces (search modal, newsletter dialog, side panel) were drawing near-black on near-black with invisible shadows, so edges vanished in dark mode. Added
--elevated/--elevated-border/--scrimtokens: dialogs now sit lighter than the page with a visibly lighter border (shadows can't separate surfaces on a near-black background).2. Homepage masthead + editorial index 🚧 (incoming)
Replacing the SaaS-template silhouette (hero + two identical card grids) with a zine masthead and a numbered, ruled editorial index — to make the site read as a publication, not a generated template.
Preview both on the Cloudflare deployment for this PR.
