Binary Workbench 0.1.0 — Windows Preview
Pre-releaseBinary Workbench 0.1.0 — Windows x64 preview
A desktop workspace for binary editing, texture interpretation, 3D geometry and scripting.
Included
- Tabbed hexadecimal editor with RAM documents, inspectors, pattern search, formatting, statistics and checksums.
- Detachable module windows for multi-monitor work.
- UV / 2D image library and calculator with standard image formats, raw/indexed pixels, BC1–BC7 and supported console layouts/containers.
- Vulkan 3D workspace and Python/C++ scripting tools.
- English interface, appearance settings and hexadecimal viewer zoom.
- Portable Windows package with matching Qt/Python dependencies. The main application opens without a console window.
Install
Download BinaryWorkbench-0.1.0-windows-x64.zip, extract the entire archive and run binary_workbench.exe. Keep all bundled DLLs and subfolders beside it. The automatically generated source-code archives are not the runnable Windows package.
Windows 10/11 x64; compatible graphics driver required for Vulkan 3D. The build is unsigned. Python includes its standard library; extra packages are not bundled. C++ scripting requires a local compiler.
Validation and limitations
38 reader tests and 29 interface tests passed; one optional graphics test skipped. The package passed startup, image-handler and bundled Python checks with development paths removed. A separate clean-machine test is pending.
This is an early preview. Console texture support covers specific formats/layouts, not every game or container variant. Compare Data, custom theme editing and some texture-to-mesh workflows remain in development. See the README for details.
The SHA-256 file is provided alongside the ZIP. Built from commit 278dc59; the release target adds the updated English README without changing application code.
