ViGaVault Release 1.3.3
This release introduces powerful new organization tools, significant metadata fixes, and a complete overhaul of the in-app documentation.
Highlights
Automated Batch Folder Renaming
Organizing your local files is now easier than ever. ViGaVault features a new Batch Rename tool that automatically scans your library for legacy game folders that don't match the canonical naming convention (YYYY - Game Name (Platforms)).
- Includes an interactive Confirmation Dialog so you can review and approve all proposed bulk renames before they happen.
- The engine safely migrates all associated local media (cover images, video trailers) alongside the renamed folders.
- The filename generator (
get_safe_filename) has been rewritten with a permissive approach, accurately preserving apostrophes, commas, and other valid characters while only stripping strictly forbidden Windows characters.
Completely Modernized Documentation
The in-app HTML documentation has been entirely rewritten and redesigned. It now accurately reflects the current state of ViGaVault, including deep dives into:
- The Scanner Engine (Platform Integrations, Advanced Folder Rules, IGDB Exact Match Supremacy).
- The Media Manager and SteamGridDB support.
- The Conflict Resolver and manual curation tools.
- Fully localized and translated into all 5 supported languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian).
Metadata & Fixes
- Strict Release Dates: Fixed a logic flaw where storefronts like GOG were forcibly overwriting a game's
Original_Release_Datewith the year of its digital re-release. Platform-specific date injection is now disabled, ensuring IGDB acts as the strict, single source of truth for all historical release dates. - Media Preservation: Fixed a bug where the local file renaming engine was ignoring local video trailers when moving game assets.
